  Sounds (like the phase gate) were purchased from a professional archive made by some company.

  Hrm, its sounds like a girl to me for the "Do something about it" line. Im guessing some heavy heavy voice modulation and distortion was used to transform that wonderful german (or austrian?) accent into a hideous blood chilling Alien hive mind?

  It's a woman, I recall the article talking about her...I just can't remember her name, heh. She's also Kerrigan from the Starcraft series.

  Wasn't "We're in the pipe, 5 by 5" originally taken from Aliens when the squad of "ultimate badarses" land in the dropship?
  
  **edit: in that scene, you can hear them say a lot of the sayings of the Terran Dropship, including "Hang on, we're in for some chop." Can't remember others, but it sounds just like that.

  No, that's not her. She did the Terran dropship and the Magic seller in Diablo.
  
  As for the dropship's lines - yeah, two of them are pretty much direct steals from Aliens. But just the words, not the actual line.

  I think part of the charge attack for the Onos sounds a great deal like one of the Former Marines in Doom. Same thing with the Shotgun pump sound. Man, it feels good to splatter a skulk across a wall and hear that comforting sound.
