Admin Exploits?

<div class="IPBDescription">Give Weapon #27</div> I was playing 11th_hr on the 1 server that was running it, and the admin of the server started talking to somebody. Dunno who he was talking to because whoever it was never said anything back, but next to his name there was an (Admin) tag. So anyway, we started seeing messages popping up that said, "King_Kahuna (Admin) used give weapon #27." Then he started giving all sorts of weapons. Wtf? Was he giving the marines weapons that they hadn't researched yet? I was aliens, and I didn't get any perks.

Well, there are 5 different types of alien, with 4 "weapons" each, so that makes 20. There are about 8 marines weapons I think (knife, pistol, lmg, welder, shotty, mines, hmg, gren launcher), so that makes 28.

Depending on the order that each weapon was coded, that weapon could be any one of them. The admin could have been giving marines acid rockets, he might have been giving aliens hmgs and shotguns...

Chances are whoever he was talking to was either using rcon or was ingame, and had been using either admin_psay or admin_chat (if this is adminmod we're talking about here. psay is a private messaging tool, so only the admin would have seen it, and if you cant guess what admin chat does, then you really need some help.... <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'>

Cheating Admins need to die.

Server tools that help them cheat need to die too.

ya thats retrated, it like in tfc when the admins were giving sniper rifles to Hws.... it just destroys the game.... is there any way thi can be nerfed?

yeah...change servers. if you don't like it you don't HAVE to play there. they can do what they want on THEIR server.

Also the name is "voogru" not "voogue" not "voog" its "voogru" Learn to spell.

The command is simply being tested, noticed that you were alerted that an admin was using "cheat" commands. I put that there for a reason.

Wouldn't cheats have to be enabled on that server for an admin to be able to do that? If so, simple add sv_cheats is not equal 1 into your gamespy filters to filter out any server with cheats enabled.

king kahuna pays hundreds of dollars to run the server, and its not like he does it all the time. give the guy a break for playing around once.

no admins can do it with out cheats, they can give wepons, its in all the mods, although they should limit it to only those that have cheats trune on so that everyone can get these wepons.

go cry else where guys UNLESS this takes place on a server YOU pay for YOU have no say if an admin desides to slay everyone OR like I do sometimes I give the marines 2000 points and the aliens get 3 hives to start so Put that in your pipe and smoke it

i agree admins shouldn't do that, but if its the end of a game, the aliens have 3 hives why the hell not? it prolongs the game and gives the merines a chance.

but Voogru's servers are very good, despite what most ppl think.
he has worked hard to make some pritty cool plugins for his servers and king is a cool guy he hosts the servers so its up to him to do what he wants. if you dont like it dont play there.

Can I point out that not many servers out of the hunderes of Half life servers out there run a voogru modification? That generally means you can go on any of the other hundreds out there that aren't running a voogru mod. If voogru became a developer at sierra... then people who dislike him would start have problems... but that probably isn't happening, so why not just go to a non-modifyed server?
