Status On 1.1?

I have just canceled my server because of linux and ns, what is the completion percentage of 1.1 ?

I am looking for a new server, something in windows i think <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

NS 1.1 will be out when it's done. (:

On a mildly more helpful note, there's going to be a fair amount of playtesting to really work the new resource system into the ground (no, I don't know what it is. No, I wouldn't tell you if I did) and make sure the teams are balanced out. More information will be forthcoming after testing begins.

There is no 1.1. The NS team have been hired to work on TF2 and Duke Nukem Forever.

Is that supposed to mean NS 1.1 is never coming out? My my, someone is impatient. Someone didn't have to wait months and months and months without even the slightest hint of a release date for a mod that they had barely seen any footage of.

why is everyone so mean to anyone who asks about the status of 1.1 these days? It's gotten increasingly less friendly after each update. I remember a little joking around for 1.01, but never as cruel as it's gotten now.. I guess 1.04 did it to us. I just wish people would read the news and assume the webmasters would tell us ALL at the same time instead of one thread per day per forum; I think that the frontpage would be the most logical place to watch for status updates on any mod.

No....Version 1 did it to us. You could guarantee more than 1 thread per day asking when it would be released. The answer is "when it's done" and will likely remain that for every release.

Why can no one trust the NS team? 1.1 will be out when it's ready to be out and ONLY when the NS team feels that its safe for the public to jam on.

Did you really think that the team would release something what wasn't rock-solid or finely tested... I don't believe they would release 1.1 just to patch it again, so expect the best... in time.

ffs, this is starting to get on my nerves now. He did NOT ask for the release date. I assume that he (like me) excepts that even if a release date was given, the chances are that unforseen problems would change it, making giving it in the first place quite pointless.

What he asked for was how far along it is, as in a percentage. Now, I am quite happy to accept that flayra does not want to release this sort of info, and I wouldn't blame him if he didn't (Cos if he did, people would use it to "calculate" the time remaining till release, and get arsey when it didn't happen) but I think that flaming him when you haven't taken the time to read his post is a bit harsh.

Zippy, as above, I doubt you will get a complete percentage figure, apart from maybe

Cause percentages are kinda useless. Sometime in the middle of last year, Flayra said release would be between 2 and 16 weeks of that date (which it was).

He said 1.1 would be out within a few months recently, and thats all we know for now. Pecentage done?.. enough.

I'd be happy with a "It will be out before August....maybe" or something like that. If they lie and say it will be out in January of 2004, maybe there won't be any more of these questions for 10 months.

Hmm. Nano, you say? I don't think I've ever played on Nanogridlock before. Maybe once. I use Lamespy and I rarely ever see Nano show up in my server list, and I don't go looking for it specifically.. but anyway.

Heh, I have All Seeing Eye set to track Flayra <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'> Its amuesing to see him join a Lan private NS 1.1 game with bots, and wish I could join. =) But I have only seen a single 1.1 game with real players testing aside from Flay. =) Ah well. It will come out eventually.

i just hope there is some space of time in between where everyone thinks, 1.1 was truly worth the wait, before trying to find out whats *wrong* with it. (i'm sure some people will have some issues....)
