good pic btw!
BTW... Marvel & Capcom did it, Street Fighter and SNK (what the hell is SNK, anyway) did it...
Why not HL mods? Make a Rocket Arena-style mod incorporating all kinds of different mods. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Capcom and SNK
Capcom being the developers of the Street Fighter series, and SNK being the developer of fatal fury/samurai showdown/king of fighters/pretty much every other decent 2d beat'emup that wasn't made by Capcom.
Capcom vs. SNK is the sort of game combination you would never expect to have happened in a month of sundays. Its the fighting equivalent of a sonic and mario platformer.
and btw that pics is brill <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

[FACT] CS is far from dead. You saying that you hate all CS players is the typical response you hear from kids trying to impress the devs of any new mod.

NS is simply much more complex than cs, and as a result, it draws in alot of the more intelligent players who want to play a more advanced, teamwork based game. I shudder to imagine if all the cs players suddenly started playing ns... there would be a serious reduction in the quality of games on every server.
CS is a fine mod. The player base, however, contains more than its fair share of cheaters, lamers, newbs, and people who like to rambo.
Back in the early beta days of cs, the game was much more enjoyable IMO. Nowadays I can't make more than a headshot in a row without being called a cheater.
I play NS now because the players are so much more mature and willing to use teamwork. Sure, NS has its fair share of rambos, but alot of the lamers that try to play ns simply don't like it and don't play it.
It's amazing how some people become addicted to ns because of its deeper gameplay, whereas alot of other people continually dis NS because they do not appreciate its actual design as a teamwork based game.

Isn't HL Bumper Cars going to have characters from every major mod?
BTW... Marvel & Capcom did it, Street Fighter and SNK (what the hell is SNK, anyway) did it...

While good on paper, this wouldn't be good in practice... I'd love to see a game as such too, but with modern thought processes people will be all like "that's my model! it's mine! you can't use it!" etc.
CS isn't dead - it's undead. The soul past away long ago, but the body refused to stop going. CS is the rotting zombie corpse of the mod community.
disturbing way to put it, but very true.

You never played on good CS servers.
The player base of CS is the player base of NS. More the more intelligent people did not flock to NS, that is just absurd. NS is not more complex then CS. It took me longer to figure out how to play CS properly then it took me to figure out NS.
What exactly is there to learn in Counter-Strike?
The reason you find Natural-Selection easier to grasp than NS is more than likely you being very familiar as to how FPS games work. A person who has never played a First-Person Shooter, will obviously find Natural-Selection harder to grasp than Counter-Strike. After you learn one FPS, you pretty much learn them all. Except in the case of NS you need to learn a bit more on how structures, tech-trees, and other RTS elements work. How I don't miss Counter-Strike... it was fun though.
