    Aliens start off with 2 sides, marines have a dig in with 1 rt, hives located either side and downwards from marine base. Also an additional hive at the far side so that

    The main rescource points would be localised around the central point (though sparse) to allow for diversity. The marines have to survive for say...30 minutes.

    Basically the Frontiersmen had managed to secure a location but the infestation had returned with avengeance. Leaving them with 3 options: 1. Exit with rescued civilians (out of combat zone), 2. Irradicate The Kharaa, 3. Die.


    Personally I dont see any form of new game style happening but if it were to happen that's how I'd imagine it happening. (But my imagination r teh sux)

    Yeah, I can see game modes adding a lot of variety to NS as long as it doesn't become counter strike in space. The modes should be variations on the existing gameplay style and it would be nice if some of them could use existing maps as well.

    i definilty like detonating the ship and getting out.. but the bet way is to make it so you have to catch a sample of the kharaa.. like apiece of a hive then run like hell with it::asrifle:: ... what i would really like to see is the bacterium SPREAD... like the whole ship is clean but the longer the game the more it spreads. you get another hive it spreads faster THAT would be cool::skulk::

    d00d, we could like then give the marines AK's and make the aliens buy defusal kits to stop the bomb exploding. Then you could have the map filled with crates, and, and, and.........hmmm.

    Anyway, missions wouldn't be bad, but from the example set by CS, one gametype always ends up most popular (in the case of CS it would have to be DE) but anyway, it could add some interest to the game. You would just want to make sure that everything stayed balanced..

    yea, its not like the marines only have one life. they would have a ip and turrets guarding and an armory like amini base. but they would be forced to have no upgrades, and there would be very few res for aliens to get, and they would only be able to have two hives so no onos or bile bomb and stuff. it could be balanced out pretty well. it wouldnt be bomb defusal it would be more like cut the power the mariens CAN weld it back together so they can detonate. there are many possibilites

    All these ideas are very well and this post should be on the <b>Suggestions & Ideas Forum</b> not mapping, but have you all ever stopped and though these ideas aren't what Flayra needs to hear? Nor do mappers, or modellers or anyone else. New expansion playmodes will be Marine Vs Marine & Alien Vs Alien. I'm also hoping that v1.1 comes with Marine Vs Marine; I'm looking forward to mapping that.

    Flayra's not fond of gameplay modes that distract from the core game, like an escape or detonate mode would.

    Yeah as fun as they would be, I think we will benifit most from a nice solid Resource model and well defined tech structure with many tech paths and upgrade options that lend themselves to numerous strategies and tecniques. Honestly, I would like to see an overwhelming abundance of upgrade options from structures. To the point that the game would end before either team could obtain all the upgrades they have access to. And more tech branches.

    Rather than new game modes, how about new features that cause strategical variations in the existing game mode?

    One question about detonating the ship mode: who would be trying to do this?     Well i think the Detonating site should be near the hive so it harder for marines but they need to "plant" self destruct "code" in three hives instead of just one to make it even more insteresting, the alien could upgrade the time does it take to place dentonating time. But still it's a cool idea to put something like that to make the game for "intresting".

    But maybe the 2nd idea of my last topic post, it liek who everf research it first will have higher weapon upgrades which seem cool.

    Well maybe Flayra has an "objective" like bomb planned for Marine VS Marine? Yeah Chrome, we don't want to go down the road To Camper-Strike.

    Then lets hope the Natural Selection Gametype is most popular.

    Think about it, Natural Selection is the survival of the fittest, only the strongest team survives.

    (Put other gametypes here) would be variations with other twists to the last team standing theme.

    Then again, we do not want the NS to stand for <b>Natural Strike</b>

    than let settle with scenarios with who get object and whoever gets it can get weapon upgrade than those De or CS scenarios =D or is that the same but still NS roxor

    Think of NS as a strategy game. How many strategy games have weirdo map objectives? In that sense, the only different game modes I envision for NS may be MvM_nsmap or AvA_nsmap.
