Are There Any Good Servers Out There?

I'd appreciate any suggestions of servers where the players play NS the say it should be played. Someone mentioned Nano Gridlock but I played maybe 10 games there and I believe the marines lost every single one. Therefore, so much for Nano Gridlock for me.

I strongly believe in the NS philosophy, you play as a team or you lose. I'd like to play with some marines, or aliens for that matter, who are serious about teamwork for once. Is the only answer a LAN game?

bit of a sily question. Firstly, the players make a good game not a server. Secondly, where r u from? if u a yank or auzzie i havent got a clue about decent servers. But if u're a good 'ol brit try Jolt.co.uk and Barrysworld servers.

no... They all suck. We all hang around because we hate the game.

ok, now, that I've removed my sarcasm filter (just having fun, not directing anything at you). Yes, Im sure there are plenty of good servers. I have only played on my own servers to be frank but I am seeing the marines begin to eek out around 35-40% wins now (use to be 20-30% when 1.04 first hit).

I don't like to advertise as my servers are typically full anyways but your welcome to come by.

    12.102.7.98 18 player
    12.102.7.99 18 player
    12.101.247.165 24 player

Im going to be shuffling things around to make 2, 18 player servers and 2, 14 player servers. I can't stand my 24 player server. Marines win a lot on it but I personally think that all the 7 year old kids do a refresh in Gamespy and jump on the largest servers they fiind. My 18 person servers seem to cater to the older (18+) age.

I also strongly believe in Teamplay but BtD has a good point. It isn't the server you play on but the people you play with.

I would suggest you always adhere to a teamplay philosophy (Play like a Teammate you would want) and get to know the regulars on a server that is fast for you. If you are a believer in Teamplay you must know that there is a kind of trust invested in your teammate if you rely on him to watch your back. The best way I can think of doing that from scratch is to make some friends, play together and build the trust. I mean, you don't have to be the best buds to the very bitter end (In Real Life) but you should respect each other as fellow server-goers.

I find then when you say, "Alright 3 marines on me, we're gonna advance on Cargo Hive." the regulars will recognize you, know you are an avid teamplay, and back you up.

That's how I did it anyways, good luck.

The three servers that I've typically experienced good games on are

    TFZ

    Coronas in Space

    and Fists of Ra.

However TFZ is all I've been playing on as of late. TFZ nearly always has decent games with teamwork. Atleast on the alien side.

Heresy, you play on the same three servers I always play on, but I've never seen you before. Is your NS tag different? And I agree, TFZ is the best server I've played on.

    Let's see...

    Nano Gridlock
    Now We Donce
    ReD Skulk Pit
    TAU House-o-Flamp
    Vadakill's

Hmm, that's my faves for ya. Don't have the IP's off hand, but Donce's IP is in my sig, so check it out sometime.

COFR FreiNS (some awesome commanders), 18 players
Fists of Ra, ~20 players (has reserved slots)
    STD clan server, 16 players
    EC server (Nano-Gridlock), 16 players

if you don't know the IP's, use www.gametiger.net to search for them.
Marine win percentage is over or around 50% on these servers. You'll see all sorts of common clan strats used (atmos relocation, cargo relocation, hmg rush, tech rushing etc. because ppl actually know how to play). Rarely will you see noob commanders and bad marines.

My only complaint is marines win everytime... and I am marine 1/6th of the time. Good people there. Just don't swear.

No my name is the same in the game. Like I said though the only one I've been on for the past...oh maybe 2-3 weeks has been TFZ Natural Selection 1.04. And I usually play between 8:30pm - 1am Pacific time Tuesday through Friday and Various times Sunday and Monday.

Perhaps I'll see ya around. (I mainly play aliens.)

{H2O}'s servers seem to be pretty good usualy, exept the 24 person server which is unbalanced due to its player count. They have 4 or 5 servers I think. Coronos in Space, and GWB's servers are also good.

Since people have posted the IP of our server here I just want to point out some things:

    1. We're *very* fond of our rules and enforce them harshly. This includes "no swearing" and "ask your team before gorging or commanding" among others, please read them. We kick or ban people who are not teamplayers as well as whiners.

    2. We have a reserve slot system. People with no slot will be kicked if a player with a reserve slot tries to join, it kicks the one with the highest ping (Don't ask for a reserve slot).

    3. Any complaints or questions should be posted here: <a href='http://www.cofrfps.com/modules.php?name=Forums' target='_blank'>http://www.cofrfps.com/modules.php?name=Forums</a>

    Indeed.
With Nano, as you said you were seeing unbalanced games, often times it is dependant on the players.
We get good players, (Lots of sYn when they're not angry and assuming we have a grudge against them ;D) and the team with the better players will win. Sometimes the teams may get a bit uneven due to stacking and such as well, but usually there is a good, even crowd.

Don't underestimate the power of the donce. Lately a lot more "NS notable" players have dropped by, and there is almost always a hefty bunch of regulars duking it out. Have a go at it, I think you'll be impressed.

Nano-Gridlock and, in the horrible occasion that Nano is full or empty, I hit Donce. They're both quite good, with great people and great players.

EFTel 1 and 2 if you're an Aussie. There are a handful of n00bs, but most of the regulars are excellent. Some of the guys who hang out there were picked for the WA team in the State of Origin, and are the best marines I've ever had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into. With an even balance of regulars on each side, games are tough and well-played. Both sides are co-ordinated, skilled, and follow orders. Playing anywhere else seems painful afterwards <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
