    I think both of them are haunted by their own demons, so I don't know which would win. Since I like marvel better than DC, I would root for spiderman. I think hes more agile than batman, stronger, and has spideysense, which would help him, but thats my own opinion.

    You guys need to read <a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1563893428/qid=1046394906/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/102-9377859-3082560?v=glance&s=books&n=507846' target='_blank'>Batman : the Dark Knight returns</a>

    Best comicbook ever. He's old, he's evil, and he's fighting crime. And he even fights Superman. Holy macarony, Batman

    As I already said, spiderman+batman=batman loses.

    Simple as that.

    Yeah, Batman won that fight. And he *did* load up on Kryptonite, and outwit Superman and all that jazz... Hell, Batman beat Captain America in one of the Marvel/DC crossovers.

    But when discussing Batman, it's best just to leave the old Adam West show and the movies out of it... now those were something... awful.

    And when talking about Batman's villains, I think we all need to forget about the Penguin, because he was a joke, yeah. Frankly, it's all about the Joker. He was friggin' nuts. Goin' around, making smile gas out of cleaning supplies... And did anyone read Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke"? Mmhmm.

    As far as RPG's go, there was a really old one that had superheroes listed by category (I think most of the newer RPG's still do this). One of the categories was "ubermensche", which meant basically a regular guy who was a bit smarter, a bit faster than his peers, with an inclination to fight crime. They also had "mecha" as a category, which was guys in power-armor. I mean, hell, if the one classification is having innate powers, then doesn't that also make like...Iron Man only a "hero," and not a "superhero?"

    Now for something else: "Watchmen" goes into this hero v superhero thing a bit... basically, there are plenty of "heroes" about, people who dress up in capes and stuff, but there is only one "superhero": this guy who can rearrange molecules and the like. So by this definition, Batman would only be a hero.

    So...I guess, technically, he's only a "hero," since the "super" prefix ususally denotes powers, not how good of a hero someone is... But this is all beside the point. Batman still kicks ****. And he doesn't need powers to do it.

    So stop dissing on Batman. He quite simply is "Teh Man" (But not "The Main Man"....that's Lobo).

    But don't get me started on Marvel comics... blech. Garbage. But this isn't the Marvel vs DC discussion thread... Wait...I can MAKE a Marvel vs. DC thread! Mwah hah-- ah, screw it, I'm going to bed.

    Anyone who doesn't know that Spiderman would kick Batmans ****, even the Spiderman in the film would kick Batmans **** thats how weak Batman is compared to Spiderman.

    Batmans just a guy with a flying mouse fetish.
    Spiderman has radioactive blood, can climb walls, has spider strength, spider sense and jump around alot. Plus he builds those kickass cartridges of spider goop.

    If batman fouynd some magic item that still wouldnt make him a super hero. No batman himself is not that smart its his bat computer that does everything.

    Although Superman is an alien, if he was on his home planet he wouldn't have any speacial powers. His power comes from the yellow sun and so he is counted as a superhero.

    Also if Batman fought spiderman, spiderman would waste batman. See Spiderman is very intelligent and so is batman(sorta). So it comes down to strength and speed which spiderman has better. Plus he has webs that he can shoot. Batman is is just some guy fighting crime with his nipple suit(for some reason they added them) and spandex.

    Captain America is not a super hero. He is a science experiment to make an ultimate soldier for WWII. iron man is also not a superhero. HE is a guy in a suit. I mean is a guy in a tank a superhero? NO.

    Now that we've determined who <i>isn't</i> a superhero, who <i>is</i>??

    Batman isn't that smart because his bat computer does everything? Hello?? Who BUILT the bat computer? Not to mention that I haven't ever seen the bat computer be anything more than a glorified search engine and SQL database - it doesn't seem like any great AI to me. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Leave the nipple suits out of this. Those were an abomination.

    And yes, I actually agree that Spiderman would beat Batman in a straight-up fight. Outside a straight-up fight, though, I wouldn't put it past Batman to pull something clever on ol' Spidey - for a guy with spidey-sense, he seems a lil' clueless sometimes when it comes to figuring people out. (Stereotypical geek, really. Just look at how dumb he was with MJ in the movie. Pretty standard.)

    Again, I'll point out that you're basing your "so and so is not a superhero" statements on the assumption that innate paranormal powers make someone a superhero. That assumption is not necessarily one that everyone agrees with, so you'll have to reinforce it before you can make it the foundation of any arguments. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Put it this way:

    A good cop = a hero. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Batman = a superhero. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
