<div class="IPBDescription">Is he A Superhero?</div> As the topic says is batman a superhero. Im dont think he is one. I mean all he is, is a guy in a costume fighting crime. Anyone can do it. Plus in order to be a SUPERhero you have to have a power. Now whats batmans power. Nothing all he has is a utility belt. Ok a belt is not a power its an item. I have argued over this for almost two years now and well i want to know what you all think.

A friend of mine is a big comic book freak, and I've been argueing Batman's claim to superherodom for well over 5 years. I'm not much into comics myself, but I <i>do</i> know that Batman is just an ordinary guy with a good build and <i>lots</i> of money.

Besides, isn't Batman considered a 'crimefighter' and not a 'superhero'? Like I said, I'm not much into comics..... <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'>

I never liked the DC comics, im more of a marvel fan myself. Batman is not a superhero, he is just rich, and knows karate and has good balance. He does however, fight crime, so I think he IS a crimefighter.

in Aberrant this would be represented by a few points in Mega Int, as well as Mega Wits (the dude just can't be thrown off balance)

yeah, he just has major issues and had lots of money and a genius IQ, but there are alot of ppl out there like that, they just don't dress up in spandex and go and fight crime, nor do they carry any anti-shark bat repellent (haha, from the old atom west episodes)

Seconded. I mean, you have to have some SuperCojones in order to jump off buildings holding onto a piece of fishing line while you can't see a thing due to your batmask. All while wearing tights that have no sekrats. Any wanker from Krypton can be a hero when he KNOWS he's indestructible - how friggin' heroic is that? I must be a superhero to ants! Phe4r meh magnifying glass heat ray of doom!

Speaking of which, how does Superman get a haircut? Wouldn't the scissors just break on his superfollicles? Or shave his superstubble for that matter. Or trim his supertoenails?

he's a "superhero", although he doesn't have any powers,in the new(at least here in denmark) series -can't remember the name right now- he cooperates with superman, amazing amazon(or whatever her name is) - and 2-3 other guys i can't remember the name of as evens.

I think what you <b>really</b> want to argue is the definition of superhero. And I'd say that whatever it is, it should include Batman, because he's cool. "Costumed crimefighter" usually equals "superhero" in my mind.

Because if Batman's not a superhero, then neither is the Green Lantern, since all HE has is the power ring.

I wanna see batman get in a fight with a REAL superhero. Like Spiderman.

Batman would be all badass looking hardcore, then this little nerdy kid will punch him in teh kidneys with amazing speed and Batman would be missing a good chunk of his torso. Batman is a joke.

My real question is... where does he get all his money.
How is it that he is so athletic if you never see him train in a gym or with martial arts instructor.
How does he build all his $hit? I mean, I don't read the comics, I didn't see most of his film, but I do recal seeing a batcar, a batplane and a batboat... WHERE DID HE BUILD THOSE? It's like he has his own little car factory like GM or Ford or wathever....

Anyways, his suit is teh ghey, and his ghey boyfriend is teh ghey too.

2) They do show this

Samwise what i would call a superhero is some one with a non-human ability. Like super super strength or super speed, invisablity, flight, laser eyes, x-ray vision etc. The Green Lantern could be argued because he himself has no power. It is the ring that gives him his power. Batman is a crime fighter and just because someone is a crime fighter dosen't mean they are a superhero. Poliece officers fight crime but they are not superheros. As for how he has all his money is a little odd. I mean you rarely see him work and he never gets any sleep so how does he run his company? So for the most part i agree with what Uh-Oh said, except for the pantsman thing. I really don't like pants, but thats a whole other thing.

3) So if Batman finds a magic wand then that suddenly makes him a superhero in your mind? Psssh. Superhero is as superhero does. And for the record, Batman could probably kick the arse of many superheroes because he's smart. If he had to fight Superman for some reason, he'd load up on Kryptonite, and outwit Superman quite handily. As far as brains go, of all the major superheroes, only Spiderman is on the same level as Batman (and I think Batman has it over Spidey in terms of being worldly and perceptive, at least).
