<div class="IPBDescription">i'm skulk food...:(</div> How do i get a better FPS rate?
i started playing using my single player HL setting, a res of 1024x768 and was getting a FPS rate of about 45fps, they reduced my res down to 800x600, FSP=30-35 <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

Most cards opperate best with the latest drivers and in OpenGL. Most modern cards are optimised for 800x600 or 1024x768.
I think its very good.. you can play in it.
I use to have about 20-30 fps in Unreal Tournament 2003 and its much more good looking than Half-life.
So.. why are you complaining?
Until 1.1 when these issues will possibly be sorted it is important to get the most fps you can. In the same way that a 19" monitor and optical mouse help so does a very high framerate.
The trick is to cap your FPS so that it isnt a major shift when you see a skulk. A steady FPS is better than a <good/bad> fps.
Yeah, what's wrong with 45 fps? or even 25 fps? I'd kill to have that kinda fps in a marine base!
i used to play games like quake 2 at 25fps MAX, and was pretty goor, for a 56ker. then i got a job, and a good computer. now my framerate only drops from turret farming (and other spam types) and only goes down to 30fps (which is still pretty bad) in the comm chair with lots of buildings. ns is a system killer, considering i get 130fps in 1600x1200x32 in quake 3, and my ns res is 1280x960x32
