Not that far away from beating TFC <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

The second counterstrike I <i>think</i> is a 'retro' CS. Someone re-released an old beta of counterstrike which is quite popular. (not sure which beta it is though)
I think that, although you can get an idea of ratio's between games with these figures, I don't think that all of the servers in existance are listed.
I'm sure NS will grow over time. The amazing thing to me tho is how much more polished NS' first release is compared to the first couple years of CS (or any other mod). The quality of the maps and models in NS is simply amazing compared to other mods.
My all seeing eye lists at least 500
but that is still undeserving of the hard work and money the NS team put into this mod..pfft..NS should be third at least...
its probably not doing so well as the straight DM games because NS requires stragety and brains...something 81615 players obviously cant grasp....
Guess we still aint getting far from WWII mania.
It's by far the newest of the mods there and is still growing.
NS is on PHL almost every day under the POTD.
...thats actually kind of scary <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

When bunnyjumping, ..viewmodel 0 and other exploits will be fixed, NS will fall to the 10th place and lower.
NS will reach 3rd...
Because CS is impossible to top, its simple premise is one of those 'minutes to learn, years to master' (Which is the best way to get a large audience). I started with CS (a looong time ago) but I prefer to respawn.
Dod will not be beaten because although it has a steeper learning curve its still simple. Also it's WWII and will probably be retail soon. I still play Dod.
NS has a very steep learning curve but if you get over that hurdle its great. So NS will slowly convert a dedicated following. NS will also go retail imho. Its just so polished and the HL engine was made for indoors.
I have a feeling that the PHL team really likes NS.
WTF. I remember there used to be several 5.2 servers (like 5 or 6 months ago), but I don't even see the second CS you're talking about.. If there was a server that was 6.6 or 6.5, I'd be on there a lot... CS 6.5/.6 is my all time favorite online game of any type. It went waaaaaaaaay downhill after that.
Personally, I think NS will eventually get to third, if they work the kinks and bugs out. And maybe toss in a tutorial of some kind. The manual isn't good enough.

DoD has been out for a while. It's had a lot of releases to refine its balance, add new features, and grow the community. DoD also came out at a time when a lot of first-wave CS people were leaving, and was a natural place for those folks to go. And it's a fine, well-made mod.
And NS is always going to be at a disadvantage, due to the anti-newb factor:
<!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> OMG newb, go back to skulk!
<!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> Why? You guys said you wanted base defenses. I had extra rp and wanted to help.
<!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> WTF? D00d, did you not even read the manual? If you had more than 24 rp taxable income in 2002, you need to file a form 4012C before going gorge. And if you were a resident of more than one hive during that time, you need to file a 1080A, plus any additional forms required by each hive. Duh.
