A Ns Story

Feel free to use this to pimp NS all you want because it was one of the best online experiences of my life. I wrote this in another forum, so its as I am talking to people who have never played this before. I've edited it a bit with neato graphix that your forum has.

----------------------------

The aliens had 3 hives - we marines were getting owned hardcore as bile bombs reigned down on us and chlorine gas choked the very air we were to breath as we spawned in. Onos were on their way, but somehow I got a jetpack just as I heard the Primal Scream of that elephantine creature stomping into our base, forecasting impendable doom. Somehow I was able to escape alive, and while all the aliens had evolved into big massive beasts, I was using my jetpack to zoom to their furthest hive from our spawn point, where I was hoping my commander had taken notice of my skillz with a jetpack, to kill just one hive, or perhaps just one alien - at that point I didn't care, I was looking for redemption. Thats all that mattered.

Well, at that point when everyone was screaming in their mic "OMG WE ARE SO OWNED" the commander and I were hatching another ending to this story. See I had sneaked into a semi secret room with the Jetpack, and while the skulks and the other little aliens that were capable of climbing walls could get to me, the mostrous onos and fades couldn't get to where I was - the commander saw this and very quietly, we managed to set up a turret factory. The whole time, I am hearing my comrades cutting in and out of their mic's as they spawned and died, and spawned and died - not very encouraging for a lone scout, out to do whatever he could for the team.

SHHHAAAAAA CHUNKKKKKK. The turret factory whirred into action as it just got done upgrading to seige cannon capable, and I was the only one left alive on my team besides my commander sitting safely in his chair, watching his base being raped all around him. All infantry portals were gone, and it looked like there was no hope whatsoever as without inf portals no more marines can spawn in. I should have gotten a screenshot of how the aliens reacted as the commander scanned the other side of the wall where I was stashed and the seige cannons that I had built fired.

Serge - yes I should, but you left your **** open for this big black ****.

Oh man... the grin on my face. When aliens get 3 hives, you know you are screwed.... theres really no if ands or buts about it, but as their hive got BOOM'ed back into nothingness and the comm was able to place, and me to build a new command chair right in their hive, complete with shiney new infantry portals, we knew it wasn't yet over. My marines started to spawn back in, and since we had all of our weapon upgrades, it was only a matter of time until we got a couple Heavy Machine Guns, and some Heavy Armor and started to systematically storm their other two hives - the marines were invigorated by my last ditch effort to save the day, and started working together in a way that I could only call "Clockwork Blue, Semper Fi style."

And when the game was over, and everyone was in the same neutral room where you can say GG and such, I was never called more names and congratulated at the same time as that brief minute before the map changed. Absolutly inspiring.

My name is Serge, and I am an army of one =) If you'd like to talk to me for who knows what reason, my email is jessecameron@yahoo.com

So you're saying you relocated to the red room in ns_nothing, had 0 RTs probably, the aliens have 2 hives (plus some onos) AND you still managed to win? Wow...what a bunch of BAD aliens.

wow, what a great sarcastic way to flame a good story

geez, From the looks of it no one even read half way through my story

and it wasn't ns_nothing in the red room, can't remember what hive I seiged, but it wasn't really a secret room, just a place that onos couldn't go, and they happened to have about 5 onos

the round itself was over 4 hours easy.

Could be the vents in Bast? Or maybe that vent area near Noname in Nancy (There is just enough room to move around in) Near Computer Core or Eclipse command on Eclipse? (You can tell I know a few siege spots, pity commanders dont <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> )

Perhaps Sat Com with that little opening you can weld in the wall. That's sort of a "secret room."

Actually that would be the closest hive, not the furthest. So that's prolly not it.

I was commanding one time and we were losing, so I sent a jetpacker into the vent near Waste Handling (the one that opens up to the research room or whatever on the other side) and we built a comm chair inside there. The ceiling was too low though, but luckily the server used the /stuck mod so we could get out of there when spawning. We managed to stay alive for 10 or 20 minutes in there, because the vent had been welded off at one end and only skulks and lerks could get in from the other. It was fun until the lerks spammed us with spores and we died.
