[mrel] Morita Carbine Ii (hack & Beta)

This would be what we in the busines call a beta release. There are a couple of tiny flaws on the skins of the P and W models, and as yet no HA version (my logic there being that by the time HA is around, you're toting HMGs anyway mostly so it's not so bad to be using a different v_mg_ha model) because this is just me quickly putting this together before buggering off to the US for a few months, so I'll be unable to complete it until I return.

This is TalShiar's reimagining of the Morita rifle, with the handle removed and barrel reshaped by myself. All credits are therefore his (unless he got someone else to skin it, of course).

    can you post it on the boards?? i like the trans of it, the normal one seems to get in the way and i find myself letting go of the trigger so i can line back up on that skulk fling at my face

    oh boy, guys id love to release this soon fully - theres been a helluva lota content release for it sofar. Someone even made some sprites for it. Souris has done a good job with the p and w models (though id hoped to simplify them because polycount is a killer) Anyway, it is safe to say this will be an excellent final release but i am being hanged up in finding someone to properly animate it. Anyone that has used the beta animations can tell you theres quite a bit of clipping as of now. In the end, if you know an animator ask him if he could do a quick job <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Not to sound all preachy and stuff, but now that i've tested it in game, it's a little disappointing.

    Its good modeling and all Tal, I just don't like the widened barrel and the lack of a barrel-tip. It's disconcerting.

    but anyway, i like the smaller parts of Tal's.... sorry souris, but it's just too dang big (very sexy though)

    i dont get you guys, this model (from the v_mg view in game) just looks like 4 or 5 rectangles arranged into a gun-like fashion...
    like no offence or anything, i admire the time and effort you put in and while the model may look fantastic in a nice ray-traced render it looks like a volvo in game...
    and the scope, the modeller from NS said that the LMG scope-like-thine was meant to be more of a information/target assistance thing than a zoom-type-deal. Yours is very clearly a zoom-type-deal arrangement, why add something useless?

    Will there be a muzzle flash with it this time (not that I'm gonna use it) along with a louder/realistic firing sound?

    in the edited pack i'm releasing (i'm putting together 3-4 packs i've already got)

    muzzel flash's (that fit the gun)
    Hud Sprites (that say mortia)

    i'm toying around with putting in sounds, but if it comes with them, i'll use those, if not...the daemon elite sounds go in....(my specail version of them... so if you put the daemon elite pack in before this model, your gunna have alot of the same sounds)

    and souris, is there a way that you could scale down the gun so we can see what upgrades our commander has given us?


    --in related news--
    i'm doing the same kinda deal with the AvP pulse rifle... sprites, muxxel flashes, and maybe sounds ripped from the game...but then again, i don't really have server space to host any of this (trying to fix it, but am short of funds)

    That model Is freaking g00d, I tested it and I love it. But still I'm sticking to the AvP2 Pulse Rifle ^^
