You tried 3dfx minidriver at 640x460 and it didn't work? What was the error you got? If that gets squirrely, you can try the wickedgl drivers posted at http://www.voodoofiles.com/471, but that should be a last resort.
Wow! How did you get a Voodoo 3 working on XP? Mine never worked, so I got a GeForce4 420 MX. Perhaps you can blame XP for this one, as Voodoo cards aren't supported very well under it.
**edit** tried the WickedGL drivers and everything for trying to get it to work on XP too.

It's not a download as much as an upgrade. Which means get yourself a better comp try running HL in win98 mode, right click the shortcut, click properties and it is in there somewhere.
well i still get the same thing with the OpenGL... But when i try the Direct3D, i enter the game but it stops at "starting Network" then after aout 2-3 minutes it says unable to connect. Couldn't finish connection attept
Everything seems to be fine now (my video card isn't old ) i played a cs server with Direct3D 640x400 and everything ran... smoothy acualy. I expected frame lag
now im just looking for a server witch isn't full ill update later
A Voodoo 3 is definitely old hardware. While you may be able to get the game working, there will be other problems in other games. If you know you won't upgrade your whole pc in a while, but can afford a cheap new video card, then try to find a cheap new one. Check out the GF3 Ti 200 and see if that's cheap enough.

btw, when ever you want tech support, post all relavent specs on your comp (it helps people out)

WON servers doesn't seem to be working, because i have always been able to join the games before.
is anyone else noticing this? because some of my favourie servers are EMPTY!
But to your right-click problem, I think you have a old video card.
