If you want a chineese or black model, reskin the marines to look that way.
Now about women models, you do need more then just a reskin..... but if there where women models there would be alot of "gender bending" and im not sure I would feel comferable playing a game with 12 year old boys using women models.

It's actually one model file with both the guns. Just like the bullets that you reload the standard HL shotgun are in the same file as the shotgun. It's just that the bullet is far away from your vision, and gets animated closer when you reload.

You can see it in ALL the playtest pics, and there are no other marine models right now. I think, in most mods (for example cs) there are only white people, which is a shame. So, i want a black marine, and a chinese marine, and a female black marine, and a female chinese marine, and a female white marine, just because a normal army of marines would not be totally white. THIS IS THUS OPPOSED TO DISCRIMINATION WHATSOEVER. Not having these models is closer to discrimination than anything i say.

Look, i wasn't calling you a racist i just thought that post sounded a bit weird. Since your not, i can't see why you took this "accusation" so serioulsy.
You have to ask when you hear these kind of things instead of just looking the other way.

Actually the thread is about someoen asking if the marine model is the final version not who is racist, so those people commenting on that concept art are ontopic where you and your colourful language are far offtopic.
Ok, entirely too much yelling (and one strangely confusing off-topic post) going on in here.
I'm performing a pre-emptive lock.
No one meant anything racist, no statements were racist that I or Spyder could see, but the accusations of racism have started making this thread a bit heavy for my liking.
I think only one person thought ShuVt was being racist, and that was just a misunderstanding. Don't worry about it, we know where you're coming from and we know what you're saying.
Lastly, the dev team would LOVE to be able to do more marine skins, including women, and non-white people. Right now though, we're doing the bare minimum to get NS out the door, and that means only one model. If we chose that one model to be female, I think we would become "The game with all female marines. They just did that to objectify women.". Also, if we make women marines available, we need female voiceovers, which are expensive (we don't even have all the male ones yet), and we have to code both sets of voices everywhere.
So, given that we have only one model in the game, a male makes the most sense. As far as color goes, we could pick any color. We didn't intentionally pick white, Squeal just drew a concept for the marines and that's what came out.
When we get more time, we'll surely add more skins and NS will feel much more balanced in this regard.
