<div class="IPBDescription">i hope the name hasnt alrdy been used</div> i have started work on my map ns_forsaken but i am still looking for ideas for it so far i have a marines start and 1 hive in design and i got a neat vent idea( u will have to wait for map to see it)
So if any of u could just drop me some ideas

about the idea for map its a infested marine bunker marine shave been sent in to find and exterminate all aliens marines start in the only functional landingarea/cargobay from which they need to get to control room to unlock certain doors for access deeper into complex and so they can turn the cargobay lifts forcefields on
thats all i got i will get a layout plan done soon as and when i get the time (me verybusy gamer i play games 12hr of the day and sleep 8 so thats four hours to eat and stuff) plz dont mention amount of time i know its alot of gaming time

Sounds like an interesting idea, just wondering if the control room is where the cc will be housed or at the cargo bay....i dont like the idea of having to run a while to get to the cc. I remember when i was trying to think of a name for my map Forsaken was one of them..altho dropped it for splinter....not sure if n e 1 else has already taken it...go to search and take a look if n e 1 has.
rooms = green
corridoors = blue
vents = red
doors = white
weld points = yellow
lifts = brown
the lines that go thorugh a room do not open into only yhe lines that end inside a room exit into room and this plan does not show the varying hights in the map it doesnt vary much but enuth for a intresting game hopefuly i can get a test out soon
Hmm... looks to me like you would run out of space on the available grid. And if you didn't, then you would have three hives very,very close to each other.

Regarding the layout, I have seen many like this posted. They all have too many rooms that are just there to fill up space, which end up as empty boxes in the map. Each room should have a function and no room should be a deadend. I also suggest you think about where you are going to place your resource nodes, this is very important.
and i will find a purpose for all the rooms i placed maybe i remove one of them cos someone pointed out u could siege three hives from this location so that one i might remove but the rest will still be there after all i am thinking of a proper bunker here not just a map created for games so i want rooms that seem to have no use but people will find uses for them and how many building have u been into where every room has a second exit or doesnt lead to a dead end and for those of u who say skulk would just rush the marines start i have purposly made sure there is no vents in the marines start as to try and prevent the skulks from just rushing as i found this to be the most anoying part of the game
and as u can see i have a large amount of vents this is for the aliens to move around and to make it look somewhat realistic in the fact a bunker like this would need a lot of ventilation
and as a nice little bonus for marines i am gunna make it so when u press a buttom in the vent chamber a large fan starts turning sucking everything outta the nearby vents and into the big blades of the fans and killed? (plz tell me what u think to that idea)

2. i dont know how to do that. if would require a trigger conveyor in the aaa trigger form i think. i have no idea. but it does sound cool.
and if someone already used your name, no one here has heard of it so it dont matter. tiher map will be labeled as "stolen name" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> . do you have any way of showing different hiegihts? try a way in your layout to do 2 things. 1 make the hallways have widths, 2 show the different heights of the ground.
