And NS Gets MORE Pimpage! LoL
Page 128 of the March 2003 issue (BTW, why are magazines always labelled a month ahead of time even when the writers make it clear it was written up in January?) has a "Mod of the Month" section at the bottom of the page.

The problem? Even though it talks about a completely different mod for UT2003....the picture is of NS! Its a Marine welding a turret in the Subspace Array hive on Nancy. NS Pimpage +10

Heres one to bad editors!

Anyone care to scan the page? lol

There has already beed a proper ns article in that magazine! It was a half page article jus after the mod was released. So it's had proper pimpage on pc gamer already.

Gaming mags are known for screwing up screenshots with mods.

PCPowerplay recently featured NS in their mods section. They decided to show it off with the most ancient screenshots they could find rather than playing the game for 3 seconds and taking some new ones.

    Go figure.

The picture was in that spot the previous month, when PCG ran NS as their MOTM. Guess they just forgot to change the pic.

In almost every media feature of NS, the screenshots are ancient and crappy. All they do is go to the screenshots part of the webpage and rip a few of the crappy playtester-era screenshots so they don't have to actually try the mod.

If its just a news reporting, the whatever officially available screenies hafta do. Note to mod devs: have current screenies on your homepage for when lazy journos fly by for a quick grab for their news item.

In the defense of the magazine editors, their mags are put together about three months before they hit the newstands. Anything you see in almost all gaming magazines is at least three months old. Usually, the people writing the stories have a set due-date that is well before the magazine goes to the printer, meaning that the content in those stories is even older.

I only buy magazines to read while I'm taking a dump. The most current info is on the web.
