<div class="IPBDescription">The things we do for games eh</div> I've just splashed out £60 on Metroid Prime for my GameCube.
Thing is, it's an American version so I had to pay an extra £20
on the Free-Loader accesory so I could load the game up!

So thats £80 for one game! I could have purchased 3-4 GameCube
games for that price!
But it's Metroid... as we all know, Samus Aran rules.
The UK release isn't for at LEAST another month and the Free-Loader
will allow me to import more games, like Zelda :-D

So its money well spent.... and i'm going to see Final Destination 2
tonight which means i'll be spending even more ££££.... anyone want to
buy a Kidney? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

QUICK CURRENCY EDIT: £80 is just under $130 (USD)

Post your stories about paying "over the odds" for titles.

I paid about £40 for UT2003. It was fun for a few days, then it got lame.

But that was paid off! I got No One Lives Forever 2 free!

    400 Danish kr. - about 40£
basic price for a game(at least here in denamrk):
    300-400kr. for a new one
200-300kr. for a relativly new one on sale,
100-200kr. for a pretty old one, or a relativly new one on discount.

    1£ = 10kr.

I once payed 40€ (1:1 in $) for Breathe of Fire 2 (SNES), realized it was an American module, and dished another 60€ for the conversion module.

The most expensive game I ever bought was Young Merlin, also for the SNES. 80 bucks, and it sucked butt.

I think the most I've ever spent is around $50... and it was probably for a Blizzard game.

I payed $150 to play Metroid Prime, because at the time I had no gamecube. :P

But that doesn't compare to the $300 I spent to play DOOM back when I only had a 286 and had to upgrade. :)

    WarCraft III CE...= 79,90 €

    Hitman 2 $54.99 (after tax)

But if you count the 3 years I spent playing Gemstone 3 then the total would be $14*36 = $504 Eww didnt realize it was that bad, keep in mind Gemstone was a MUDD (text based MMRPG for you younglings)

Then there is the total I spent on the Half-Life Empire

HL x 3 (heheh I had 3 comouters at one point in time)
    Opp Force x 2

    39+39+9.99+29+29 = 145 ? plus tax

I think mine would have to be $60 for Red Faction when it came out ($10 pre order and $50 for the rest)... Freakin Software ETC... But at least I got a decent Music CD with the preorder.

But the "purchase" that I found dissapointing was my $40 spent in Project Entropia. What a waste [of time and money] that was. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> PE Devs

Lol, yes. Most I ever spent on a game was for the Diablo 2 collector's edition.

Of course, I haven't touched the game since I beat it, so I can't say it was really worth the money.

heh. HL Platinum edition, for 40 bucks. For 3 HL CD codes.. I'm sure I've spent more for a game, I just don't remember. Last I checked SNES games cost only ~40 bucks, and All of my games are shareware or Ueber-Oldware (so never over 30 bucks for a game, outside of HL)

I find it funny how you guys are all like "omg I like paid $60 for this game one time". I laugh because thats still only about £35! A £50 game would be about 75-80 dollars for you guys. Lol and you guys thought you had it bad.

    £50 ... Streets of Rage 3.

The game was a complete dissapointment, not a patch on the mighty SoR2 (one of the finest 16bit games and the definitive scrolling beat 'em up).

And DY357LX, you got seriously ripped off mate, I got US Metroid Prime for £35 and if I didn't already have an NTSC Cube I could have got Freeloader for £17.

There's only one place by me that does import stuff, so he can
    basically charge what he likes.
    Where do you get yours?

cgp-you sure you didn't buy all of them for that much? Sheesh. I got marathon 1-inf for less than 30 bucks (and abuse, and pitfalls, and one or two other games, too).
