    but how did the author get the marine to remain suspended in midair for so long? the only way i know to do such things is to yank out the ethernet cable. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
    (and then they don't manage to land so smoothly, just kinda flicker and disappear)

    its done in third person mode , the command is 'thirdperson' , weird? to make it spin u type camyawright and to make it go to any angle is cam_idelyaw 0-359, 0 being behind him.

    btw if any mods read this , can u just scrap the hole fps thing and make NS a third person game cause after playing it in 3rd person it truly rocks <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->, so does TFC in 3rd person <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I don't think you even need to make HL movies in HL, not that I've ever downloaded one. I'm pretty sure you can make the whole thing in 3DS Max. Making such things is an entire art form, which I have little knowledge of.

    Bah, technically it would be easier to make a video in HL itself, because you would have to do things like convert the levels and put in all the animations at the right times. Of course it would look better at the end, it's not really worth it.

    what u need is to import the map into 3DS MAX R2.0 or higher for the matrix spin and some one was asking for the bullets u need 3DS MAX R4.0 or better if u want to know how to do that stuff go here

    Coolrunner, if you know of a way to do this, I'd be extremely interested... all my attempts, even to convert to worldcraft's .map, have failed.

    alright D'Artagnan this is kinda tricky the way i would do but i dont know any other way.

    First one needs to get a program called "winbspc" u can find it here at this link

    then import the map through this program to a .bsp file or .map file once recompiled
    go and export that file to a .DXF file

    im not sure if 4.2 or lower supports .DXF importing but i do know 5.0 does in 3DS MAX

    a few problems with all this the tex are all off or will be lost
    2nd and mdl. file will be lost by doing this

    there mite be some other problems but i havent really worked alot doing this

    if any one knows how to do it in one step i would love to know

    there is a plugin for 3DS MAX for the .mdl files but i dont know where it is try that 3DCAFE link i gave u it mite have it there.

    Haha, I was asking you for the process because I have tried to winbspc NS maps in the past, and I would always get some sort of fatal error.... as if someone had included ANTI-WINBSPC CODE!!! Hahah anyway, i'll try again... and to get .mdl files into 3ds I go through Milkshape. .mdl->milkshape->swf->milkshape->3ds.

    BTW if anyone has successfully and incontovertably converted an NS map into a .map or any other format, please post your procedure... I need to make NS animations! Long live NS!

    It could be all the fancy new map enhancements that ns brought about... particle systems and all those new entities and whatnot... I guess a last resort would be contacting the mappers and begging for a section of the .rmf or .map. "Please please please can you give me the marine start, I already tried ripping you off without your permission but it didn't work! Please please..."
