<div class="IPBDescription">tag 'n run</div> OK, I might not be the best NS player. Heck, I probably score somewhere in the lower 10% with my 3 fps, but I did come across this nice little skulk trick that I believe you might be interested in.
Bored with hanging on the ceiling, waiting for a marine to come by? Use this to make ambushes a bit more active:
First of all. get regeneration since you'll be taking some hits at long range and will have plenty of time to heal from them.
Once you've got regeneration, run around the level until you hear marines walking around.
Position yourself near a corner, so that when the marine comes into your view you can shoot a few parasites at him and dodge out of his line of fire before you're seriously hurt.
Then backtrack untill you reach the next corner, where you repeat this process.
I know that killing him like this will take ages, but that's where the second stage kicks in: once you've convinced the marine that when he rounds the next corner he will see you at the other side of the hallway firing parasites at him he'll charge round the corner, trying to hit you. But this time you were hiding right around the corner and proceeded biting him to death.
It may not be the best tactic around, but at least it keeps 'em busy and ticked off.

3 fps isn't all that unplayable. You actually get an updated screen 3 times per second, and 1/3 of a second is usually enough to schoot and run without getting shot to bad at long distance.
And with such a low framerate you miss the closed teeth frame, so running around bite-spamming without cheating is quite easy. Getting the marine in your view while doing that isn't though, so I usually run away to heal if I can't find him in a few secs.
The wallclimbing trick does seem a bit more difficult to pull off, but I'll give it a try.
I usually get around 1 to 2 kill ratio, not very impressive, but when you throw in the buildings I ate, marines I parasited and equipment carying marines I killed it is safe to say that I'm costing the marine team a lot more res then I cost the alien team.
And of course I prefer being gorge. Even in combat he handles quite OK at 3 fps, not much need for aim with healspray and webbed floors.
