Initial Alien Resources

how are they distributed ?
Does anybody know the rule which determines how many resource points each alien player gets when the game starts ? It is clearly dependent on number of players but I can't see any simple mathematic expression which describes this. I'd like to know this because I am writing program simulating NS resource economy.

I think it's 10RP to each player that joins the game before he has to "REINcarnate"

As far as I have observed, the aliens start with 10 res each, and the hive "pot" starts with 10, which immediately get distributed among the aliens. So basically, two aliens will start with 15 each, five aliens will start with 12 each, 10 aliens will start with 11 res each, etc.

Keep in mind that the team usually doesn't reach its full size until the game has been started for ~30 seconds. (late joiners) If the gorge was the only player at the start of the game, he will get 20 res right away, which gives the alien team a nice head start. This doesn't apply to tournament mode, of course.

I'd love to see this program when it's done.

Thanks. If you are interested in the program you can find its development version at http://nakyveci.wz.cz/NSEcoSim.html. Requires Internet Explorer at the moment. It certainly needs much polishing and some additional features but I hope it could be useful right now. Just regard its results with a grain of salt ;-)
