<div class="IPBDescription">for holograms</div> i have playr models in the hologram but they look bad. is there a way to change the direction the modle looks? i have a model of a heavy marine. The marine looks down with his arms hanging down and breathing. And the marine model shows the marine in the ready room, not a normal one with a gun.

is there a way to change the way the models look? i want the heavy marine to be looking up, and if possible, holding agun.

    no, models wich are placed always play their "idle" animation (you can look at the animations in HLMV). you cant have a Marine hold a weapon since these are 2 seperate models. you can change the facing of a model like you change the facing of every other entitity the circle thing in the top right of the properties dialogue.

    I think there might be a way to change the animation sequence of a model using the "cycler" entity, but I'm not sure about that. In any case, what you may want to try doing is looking for a program called Milkshape, and using it to decompile the marine model, then make a one-frame animation sequence and recompile it. You'll need to look at a few tutorials first, but I did something like that without any prior modelling experience at all.

    Once you figure out how to do what Rhoads suggests, though, you may well be able to -also- put a weapon in there, depending how deep in to the prigram you go.

    so if i get milk shape i can make the marine look forward? and hold a gun? where can i get milk shape?

    i am already using a cycler entity and i set it to hologram and additive and it works fine.

    oh, btw, this is interesting: i did stopcommandermode in the ready room and got the gun out, i donno why. and i shot the marine. it acted like a normal marine, and he fell over and died repeatledly. it was just like a normal marine would die. like it was alive. and btw, the marines lose a lot of blood when you shoot em.

    You can get a 30-day trial of Milkshape <a href='http://www.milkshape3d.com' target='_blank'>here.</a> If it takes you more than 30 days to do it, you're doing something wrong. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Anyway, you can use it to give the marine any kind of "pose" that you want. You might be able to get him to hold a gun, but that's something I haven't looked into yet.

    As for the question of why the marine "died" when you shot him, it's due to one of the quirks of the cycler entity. It cycles (hence the name) to a different animation sequence when it's shot or +used. But if you create a new .mdl file using Milkshape which only has one animation sequence, you will not have this problem.

    could you tell me how to load up the model in milkshape? i got it today and i tried to import a half life model, but it was only in smd form or soemthing and all the ns models are in mdl form. how would i import a model of a heavy or an onos?

    i tried for an hour last night and all i got was the marine model. the the heavy one, and i couldnt do anything elese like save it. can someone who knows how just get the heavy marine standing up? please? i have no idea what to do and i really dont feel like trying anymore..

    I've also been trying to do this for a movement chamber in the ready room... you can trigger them to do animations using scripted_sequence but they revert to the first animation in the list once this is done. I can't seem to figure out how to make the animation loop <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    i just need to have a marine standing up and i dont know how.... can anyone just do that, that is all i ask. i really cannot do ithis. i suck.
