I really would like to know what planet you are from. What do you think happens BEFORE they send "your" men in to die an oh so heroic and glorious death? And by the way, there is an off topic forum for spreading out the usual war propaganda. Here is really not the place for it.
Now about this stupid scripting discussion:
Before you start whining about scripts and how bad, evil or whatsoever they are take a closer look at what scripting means in any halflife mod. You will find out that you can do much less with scripting than you might have thought. There are no IF/THEN structures, no loops, no variables etc. And while a script is "running" every input is ignored. There are lots of scripts around which at the end hinder you more than help you. And those that are actually helpful are scripts for things like the famous duckjump (ducking while jumping, required to get over allmost any obstacle in hl mods), so that you only have to press one instead of two keys at once. Which is, at least in my oppinion, as much cheating as reconfiguring your reload key from r to e. But then again i am quite sure there are lots of ppl around here which would call me a cheater if they would know that i reload with e.... oops, i said nothing :o)). There are of course problems in hl mods like the field of view command (as far as i know disabled in ns) and the drawviewmodel command (as far as i know disabled soon in ns). But they have nothing to do with scripting but with engine options which simply should not be changable in a multiplayer game. So before you start with such intelligent arguments like "scripting is bad", "scripting is evil" or any (scripting, skill) relations use your brain before you do or you will most likely make yourself look like an ignorant fool. Scripting in hl mods is just a way to make your gaming life more convenient, on the same level as customizing your keyboard does. Try playing ns with your movement keys on o,f,l,q and you are glad that you are able to customize your keyboard and that customizing your keyboard gives you much more of an advantage than scripting a duckjump does. For me ns is still a game and a game should make fun. Pressing as much keys as possible at once is no fun for me so as long as there is the possibility to do a duckjump with pressing one rather than two keys at once i will use it and if you call me a cheater, lamer, no skill newb (or whatever other popular expression you have) for it i could not care less.
P.S.: Actually i think a study about the relation between the intelligence of a poster and the number of times he uses the words "lamer", "skill" and "newb" could be quite interesting :o))).
HEAD d^_^B you are not going to garner sympathy for your point of view by posting 3 times consequtively.
As far as i recall in 1.01 Flayra enabled some aspects of scripting to appease scripters. Personally im neutral if someone wants to use this then let them, i really dont care as i have confidence in my abilities. I just dont see the point in jumping down someones throat just because they posted something to HELP others...

Hows this for a script?... When u press and hold fire the cvar r_drawviewmodel gets changed to 0 so that thev_model gets removed from view. When you release the fire button r_drawviewmodel gets changed back to 1 so that you can then see your v_model. A second key then toggle this feature on or off.... Anyone who has experimented with r_drawviewmodel in NS knows that this cvar also turns off the hivesight so you cannot see parasited marines or structures under attack. With such a script you could see parasited marines coming and when you attack as a skulk, your teeth dissapear from view until you stop biting giving you a huge advantage.
After reading most of this thread I decided to have a go at such a script and found it suprisingly easy to complete!! Im not going to publish it as I believe removing the skulks teeth from view is a form of cheating. Some people believe scripting is cheating whilst others dont. In reality it all depends on what you are actually using the script for wether it be a mere weapon switching script or the example I described above. I just hope the v_models get locked in 1.1 so that you can be sure everyone plays the game as its meant to be played.<!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
havent tried it but i had heard that that weapon-invis thing you explained for skulk teeth IS disabled in 1.04
anyway, scripts that are as worthless as whipping out the machine gun shouldnt be called cheats. i think when i hear my pistol click empty i can move my ring finger from a to 1 pretty damn fast. (wasd controls)
what benefit is knifing and jumpin !?
if there was any obvious advantage i could get from any sort of automation script (like this weapon changer) i would gladly go write it.
even a "click really fast if weapon == pistol" wouldnt be useful because it would interfere with the many instances when you do NOT want to use a full clip.
i once experimented with other forms of "editing to gain advantage" by say, making my muzzle flash sprites nearly 100% transparent, so that way i could see what i was firing at. of course i then learned that everyone's muzzle flash dissapeared and i couldnt find the marine in the dark corner blasting away at me. and he didnt understand why i couldnt find him! any advantage i would ahve gained was eradicated by the disadvantage i was now at. no reason to use that "script" anymore.
