need help with design
ok, ive been working on a design that doesnt come from a movie. its somewhat of a cross between a g36, sg550 and a few bits i thew in. theres a keypad type thing on the left side, the circular thing. the clip is inserted directly below it. i think i got a good start on it but ive run into a brick wall with design for the thing. id like to make the aft section look a bit nicer but ive run outa ideas. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

*drools*
j/k looks kool but i must say also aint that a sig550 front?!
the back of a weapon isnt too important imho, since you wont see much of it ingame
Make the scope a cylindrical thingy that hangs off the left side of the G36 rail mount. The part that connects the bottom of the trigger to the stock should be removed, and replaced with something more along the lines of an H&K SL-8.
The rest looks cool; I don't see the point of a keypad over the clip, though. Move the keypad a little back, and then stick a modular attachment on (view the FN F2000 prototype for ideas)
That's the news from this lonely fun enthusiast D:
Shoulder Brace (butt of the gun) - looks good, maybe another verticie would help to make it rounded...
Barrel/front - again, a little too flat, just a little more rounding would make it sexier.
i like how you encourperated real-life technology and understanding of how a SMG works...makes your model beliveable, sexy, and a smart replacement for a gun in any mod...
what would this replace?
For a more original [or at least -rare-] style of stock, how about something like this? Of course, you can make it more functional in accordance with what you've already got modelled. Hell, it might be nice to have a couple pouches on it for extra clips, or such. I like the adjustability. It's just a basis for inspiration, though. Don't do it exactly like that.
The keypad would have some sort of read-out somewhere, where you could see the changes made by pressing the keys? Maybe in the scope? On the side of the scope? Find out how that guy made the functional ammo-counter on his Halo rifle and maybe you can do something similar for the read-out. That would be -so- incredibly sweet and may be cause enough to ditch my pulse rifle! I love it!
only older rifles like the KAR98 use clips afaik
but clips and mags are interchangable slang now, so it doesnt really matter
can only be done in firearms I'm afraid, something to do with firearms code for the bullets in the g36 mag or something
IF YOU READ THIS STRYKERWOLF EXPLAIN PROPERLY

the working counter only works on the Firearms g36 - they had a system in place for the g36 where you could see the bullets in the magazine deplete (since it was supposed to be a clear plastic mag). the trick they used involved having a differant sub-model for each number of bullets. they just switched the skin for the g36, but on the halo rifle, i made actual model changes (the lcd numbers were modeled). pretty simple on my part, just a lot of grunt work getting all the numbers done right.

so now you know

it's pimping now, the butt of the gun looks great, and i like the additions/modification the the barrel of the foo...

---Edit---
taking a little longer look at thebutt of the gun, do i see a hint of a recoil-less butt? the indented section looks like the last part of the anti-recoil system on the m249 bravo (another sexy mofo)... lookin good...
