Gorge Rush!

<div class="IPBDescription">Thats right... Stop laughing</div> Thats right, a gorge rush. It sounds like a stupid novelty idea on paper, just for a bit of fun to mop up an already-lost marine team. But I'm telling you, it works. Well.
Yesterday, I won 2 games from a losing position as aliens by managing to coax my entire team to turn gorge and rush. In the first game on tanith, we had gone without a gorge for the entirety of the game, everyone was too lazy/crap. The skulks were below average, the marines had managed to take waste and were moving to fusion, even with a slow comm. With no gorge or decent players, we decided to give up and go for a last ditch assult on their base - with gorges. The amount of healing spray that is fired by the gorges in a futile attempt to kill marines - most of the killing was done with towers we dropped in thier base - makes the gorges close to invunerable. We took their main moderately fortified base with no effort at all, then regrouped and took waste the same way. The huge advantage of this is any places gorged rushed were completely covered in OC's and DC's, making it next to impossible to take back. Even though they built a seige at their final base in fusion, our fades with plenty of gorge backup made short work of the remaining marines.
These were all mediocre players, who had already given up. This rush strategy is exedingly effective on the unprepared - gorge rush any base without a preemptive seige and they can kiss that base goodbye. This is a great way for a losing team with only 1 hive to take back a hive. With 2 hives, even jetpackers or HA with HMGs are a pushover - they cant fire that big shiny gun or fly around on the roof if they've been webbed.
Gorge rushing is not the kind of strategy that will dominate all games from now on (like phase rushing), its too easily countered by a team who is expecting it. But it does make for an effective way to take back hives from a losing position, not to mention ****ing entertaining for both teams.
I snapped a few screenies, but none of them really showed the full might of our rushing as i was usually the one at the front.
