Reserved Space Using Adminmod

NS plugin so it doesn't kick COMM/Gorge
Hey our clan is about to get another server just for NS. We currently have our CS servers setup to kick someone when a clan member joins so there is always a space free. I've been thinking with NS this could be bad, as you could kick the comm or gorge. I can't be the only one with this problem. Has anyone made a plugin that accomodates this?

Also it'd be good if you had a sticky thread or a web page with all the plugins that are being created. At the moment it's kinda hard to find them.

switching to non-kicking reserve slots is always an option

i haven't heard of anything like that. good idea though - post on the AM forums and someone might do it

i think the AM community needs to focus on NS more than CS, especially now that steam + 1.6 are turning CS into crap. i personally will do my best to get them to realize NS will be more relevant to them in the future

yea, I would recommend some reserved slots, usualy the people who run the servers are more than happy to give you some reserved slots simply because it lowers the number of people able to pub in the server w/out the clan members there

The problem with the non kicking method of reserve slots is that we have lots of clan members. You need them to pay for all these servers we have.

I'll try posting in the AM forums. I think it may end up me having to do the plugin myself, which will be a struggle as I have next to zero experience with small.

And agreed CS is really starting to suck since 1.4. :/

I had a lot of clan members wanting to play on our original cs server, 2 non-kicking reserved slots worked out fine. There were only 1 or 2 times over the course of a whole year where i got a "server full" message, because honestly, how often do 3 clan members decide to join at the exact same time ? as long as one joins and a normal person eventually leaves then you can keep a steady flow.

because remember, when someone uses a reserved slot they will migrate to a normal slot whenever a player leaves, so as long as u have a big enough buffer of reserved slots then you don't have a problem

Ah good point, didn't know it moved them into a non player spot when someone left. We usually all agree to go to the server in IRC so actually having 3 or more join at the same time is a reality. But anyway we'll have our server before I get a plugin that does the non kick comm/gorge thing so I can give it a go and see how it is.

I always find the CS bashing to be funny. Adminmod will still focus on CS, because CS is going to be around longer then other mods.

And your opinion of 1.6 running CS into the ground is just that, your opinion. I have been playing it, and most of the people playing it seem to like it.

We welcome your enthusiam! We've been doing this for over 2 months now... Knock your socks off Mayhem, because we're not releasing ours.

We have lots of regular users that want to get in and play... they donate to voogru $5 for a reserved slot to get in.

We're not in competetion with anyone Mayhem... We encourage anyone that is interested in making a new mod to do so. So there is no need to cough...

it's definitely just my opinion, but i've been running multiple CS servers for years, and i know a lot about it, and my opinion is highly informed when i say that the 1.6 server is, at present, a long way from being acceptable. but yes it's just my opinion

No, CS just plain ole sux. I can't wait for TF 2 to come out. That *will* be around for a long time.

The server is in beta, so it does have a long way to go.
