<div class="IPBDescription">To Call Gaming Evil!</div> <a href='http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20030128/hl_nm/computers_clots_dc_1' target='_blank'>http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ters_clots_dc_1</a>

Just in case you are too lazy to read the article. It basically says that computer users are prone to the same type of bloodclots that affect passengers in planes on long trips. This dude used his computer for 12 hours a day non stop and almost died frm a clot that traveled from his leg to his lungs.

Moral of the story:

When you end a round and are in the Ready Room Stretch your legs, stand up. Maybe do a jumping jack or two before rejoining the fight!! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    nowadays, just about _everything_ is a health risk

    Gaming
    computer use
    using the mouse
    sitting wrong
    Eating fast food
    not eating on the go
    drinking too much
    not drinking
    smoking
    passive smoking
    too much excersise
    not enough excersise
    excersising wrong
    eating the wrong food
    using your mobile phone

    meh.. i could go on and on

    I wouldnt worry about it, just live your life, and dont do anything stupid.. i mean, 12 hours sitting without moving? just take a stretch and go for a walk around your house or something..

    This something that can happen anytime? I only play on weekends and my job at a paintball feild keeps me in shape but if i were to binge for twelve hours one night would a clot be a risk? And does fitness matter at all?

    TAKE THE BLOOD CLOTS LIKE REAL MEN!
    A shot of Jack Daniel's and some french fries and I'm good to go.

    Pansies.

    This isn't like a heart attack because you're unfit. This is blood clotting because it pools in your veins when you sit without moving for extended periods of time. Solution, get up and stretch every hour. Not too hard. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (It's the same problem as some people have on long airplane flights.)

    Im sure if you have a good circulation from exersising this probably wont happen. I wonder if any gamers get the gout?

    I know I have been on my computer for long periods of time, but I couldn't stand to be on it for 12 hrs, my day would feel wasted, I can't even stand to get up late, because I feel lik my entire day has been wasted. As for a health risk, I usually get up to go eat or go to class or take a walk, never had health problems from being on the computer too long (I had a kidney stone when I was on the computer, does that count?)

    Considering how frequently I move around and the bizzare contortions I do just using a computer.. I'm not to worried.
