That yellow really sticks out there in my mind, just seems rather cartoonish to me. Other than that, awesome. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Do anyone know how i get the right scale to the model or can the mapper adjust it with in wc?
  • Spyder_MonkeySpyder_Monkey Vampire-Ninja-Monkey Join Date: 2002-01-24 Member: 8Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
Yeah, comparing the two, the Red one is much nicer. The grey version looks like it just got done fighting the Imperial Starfleet... twice.

Also, I just noticed, but I would revert back to the landing feet of the grey version. Either that, or increase the size of the wheels on this version, they look a bit small compared to the actual craft.

    Those wheels are too tiny.

Hrmm... I'm not so sure I like the red itself... I dunno, for some reason I just see this model with a tiered stripe pattern running across the side... something along these lines:

    --------------------
    ----------------
    ------------

I also liked the landing skids better on the early version, but maybe that's just me.

At any rate, it's still looking good, and really holds true to the original sketch. As far as scale goes, from what I know, I think the best way is to import a player model and scale the model from there -- though I'm no expert, so I cold be wrong.

Cliff - from everything i've heard, units in 3dS = units in WC.

I like the grey version better. I've never really like the yellow and the green, IMO it's looks ugly <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->. could you please make a version without the green and the yellow, I'm sure it will look much better

    Thanks everyone.
it will be wheels as its requested from badmofo and its his concept thats why i myself wanted the landing gears from the old.

Must say the work is good...but i don't like it very much,it seems too much like a team-only ship, thinking like TFC things...
but also the grey version is boring, cos in the maps there's too metal.

I SUGGEST to implement both the things...maybe using a darker red, nearer to a dark blood colour, and use it for details. i mean: NOT totally red or totally grey. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
    is enough clear or seems i'm drunk? <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

Heh. That's different. Quite the change there.

I can't say I like how the red blends with the yellow and stuff. I've always liked the yellow there, but the red just doesn't seem to fit. :/

    /me gots an idea

What I think would look perfect is if you turned that red into a darkish olive green. I'm assuming that changing from red to green only requires some... err... saturation (or something) adjustments.

Why not try that out, and post it up here? <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
    I think it'd look kickin!

Badmofo liked this version so i will convert it to mdl and see how it looks as the last attempt crashed as it got all blurry.
but thanks for the input and i belive it will be hard to follow everyones suggestions now as they differ to much. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Great work BUT:

It sure does look like a cartoon. Go for olive green and tone down the yellow just a little bit so it doesn't look like it glows in the dark. Right now it just looks silly.

After thinking about it for some time, and placing the ship on the pad in Mofo's map in my mind, I must say that I really like the red.  Nuts to the olive green skin <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->, I think that the visual contrast will look really good on the landing pad.  Great work!

Finally someone understands why i made it so red thanks greedo. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Hehe, no. It's great the way it is. I still say green would be really cool looking though!

Great job, regardless. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> It would look really nice set there.

Yeah, I agree that the red will look better with the greyish (as far as I can recall) surrondings in the cargo bay of ns_sync.

Though the grey I think looks the best with black background, as seen in these shots. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

Yeah, good point. The green would make it come out looking very militaristic. Red makes more sense considering its use.

I have no problems with red.... my issue is that that particular SHADE of "red" is practically pink.  Go for fire-engine-red, not my-little-pony-red.

personally i'm not much for that deep shade of red - now that i have the model and skins i will put my own artistic skills to use and work closely with cliff to come up with a skin we can both agree on <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
