Always place movement chambers outside the hive at certain places...Like, When you've got 4 or 5 DC's outside the 'rines base for your team to retreat and heal to, you should put a MC there, just incase some silly human sneaks out and tries to weld a hive.
in verson 1.4 i was on a alien team and i stood on a phase gate the marine came in got stuck on me and i munched them all i got about 10 kills like that before my team killed the phsae
Telefragging is whacked up the wazoo, it seems if you don't appear exactly inside the center of him, it wont telefrag, so your arms and stuff will be stuck together..
Ive noticed that you don't always cycle through the phasegates anymore, which is BRUTAL. Sometimes when we have 3-4 phasegates up, my comm will yell "Phasegate in blahblahblah under attack!"
I start hitting phase gates, and it keeps cycling through the first 3, and won't let me go to the last one. I yell at the comm "It isn't up!", and he says back "It is! I can still see it at half health!". I've often needed to phase 10-15 times before I can get there. It REALLY is annoying. Sometimes it does that even when not under attack. I'm just trying to get to a location, and I cannot get there. I often just end up running there, if I end up in home base more than 3 times.
i've had the same issue trying to get to the phase in distress... it seems like they've been improved to cut down on the chances of telefragging and won't let you teleport to an 'occupied' phasegate. I've noticed it mostly when there are only 2 phases and a couple of marines have managed to get stuck together at the other phase, it won't let me through. hadn't thought about aliens parking on the phase and causing the same thing to happen, though...

Ravlen <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Movement chambers have been doing that since 1.0; it would only cycle between the first two hives but noth the third one.
Perhaps phase gates could be altered so that if a commander gives you a waypoint and you use a phase, the first phase you teleport to will be the one closest to that waypoint?

Once you have 3 hives up, the 'middle' hive tends to get left out of the loop, but since aliens have a much easier time traversing the map this isn't a big issue. And it's not hard to put up two seperate movement chambers in the 'middle' hive spaced such that they teleport to seperate 'outer' hives.
An interesting thought would be to change movement chambers so they teleport to the closest hive, allowing gorges to daisy-chain the hives together instead of this reverse-distance layout that's in place now.
one way to solve this then guys, obviously got to go back to the old way of phase gates, as i am a fan of hte old ones, these new ones are totally . . . [SWEAR WORD] well, you know what i was gonna say
I actually like the new Phase Gates; theres nothing worse than having to phase to location several times, just cos it's situated in a tight corridor and you try to get to the other <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> But there have been times where it skips some locations; i played a game last night and i was patrolling the phase gate outposts, i tried twice ad couldn't get to one of our hives, i told everyone it was under attack and they took the PG out, lol!! Made me look like a right newb! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
So can someone check if phase gates DO teleport you to a random location now? In 1.03 there was a set cycle (the order they were built in) but i think it actually is random now, which is good and bad.
So, it seems the phase gates have a bit of a built in safety mechanism... which the aliens can take advantage of.
This is why you should cover them with some turretage or some marines. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Blow that phase blocker away, and the problem is solved...

I never understood why gorgs only ever put movements in hives.
