Apart from the terrible spelling/grammar, isn't "also you can move backwards at full speed while bouncing/strafing" considered an exploit in NS? There's certainly been plenty of flame-threads arguing about bunnyhopping here before.
Hey playerone, you're obviously a total NEWB! Afterall you neglected to explain the crouching hit-box/invincible vents.
Vital for all non-newbish marine players that....
Oh also!
Building into the fireroom is another trick you'll need to classify as a true 'vet' aswell as using your gun while commanding to kill the hive and using a marine skin while playing alien to seed discord, yes remeber kiddies, exploiting is good for you!
You guys are being a little harsh, there were a few good strats in there. I liked the building a hive under siege one especially.
Also do NOT take playerones advice for netcode. Those settings will totally fark up your connection. Over 10000 for Cl_rate and over 50 for cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate are for LANs ONLY. I can't even find explanations for some of the cvars he lists, so I'd say its pretty suspect that he would know exactly how to tweak them.
well to respond to the moving backwards at full speed, it's not easy to do unless your a quake3 cpma player, or a pro bunny hopper from back in cs. so i don't think it's an exploit really. can't really use too much in fights if you want to aim either. to respond to grammer, i don't believe in formal grammer. to respond to netcode comments, the 101 and 100 rates are good for me since i use optonline, which is so sweet. and i do know and understand fully about ALL the netcode commands and can explain any of them to you. here is a link that will help you out a bit with some of the basics. http://www.icantlose.com/cs/tech.shtml#netcode
I love the lerk as it is. It's prefectly possible to go round corners at fairly decent speed with practise. I really hope it doesn't get newbified into a jetpack .
After seeing all the flames curiousity got the better of me and i checked the link, seems he took his ball and went home. But did leave one little tidbit for removing teeth and muzzleflash when you fire your weapon. Funny thing is it wont do you any good on a 1.04 beta server, or any server when 1.04 is realeased (eventually). Enjoy it on the 1.03 servers, lord knows i have no use for it since all i play is 1.04 servers now. Now if we could just tone down those pesky mad backward hopping marines outrunning skulks.
Ya know now that i think about it, the people he intended to see this (newbs as he calls everybody) are exactly the kind of people who wouldnt have any idea how to use the exploit.

Edit : Oh, and I play Lerks usually, wonder how I can start to play the Lurk?

No, don't get me wrong, the strats ideas are kinda neat, but it is just too much exploitation (and approving of it!) for me.

My friends from darkside said u were at w2z, how was the tournament?
I almost decided that you must be a complete pillock. Then I figured I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and visit that page for myself.
Turns out I was right the first time. You are a complete pillock.
Consider this your warning.
