Fade Scare

New 'tactic' ? :)
I've found something I really like to do, now.
When I'm a fade, and I see a lone LMG, light-armor marine, I run straight at him, hopefully he notices me (that's the whole point)

Obviously he'll load about a clip into me, but I'll get RIGHT up in his face, as a fade, and I'll just pause a section, then Swipe him to death.

From a fade's point a view, I think this would TOTALLY freak out a marine..

And I thought of one better..
Right before you swipe, during that pause... CHUCKLE... then swipe him to death.

Sort of really TAUNTING him to stay away, and you're more powerful than he is... MUWHAHA

Anyone else have any scare tactics they do? Also, Having a very large amount of skulks (IE: Almost entire team) Spam chuckle outside of the marine base really freaks them out.. most of the time they'll start spending RES on turrets, they'll hardly step out of their base, though

wen i find a lone marine i blink past him, chuckle, spin round and blink past him again
    spamming chuckle as i go
he runs out of ammo, i casually walk over and bash him =)

but i have ended up stuck in many pipes and walls getting knifed =(

    1 flaw
25 bullets of lmg in the chest of a fade can kill him, WITH NO UPGRADES AT ALL

This is tested, I was stuck and there was a fade in front of me, around say 10 feet or so, he was looking at me, I shot him in chest, he didnt bother moving, then he died and screamed WTF

    ALSO

1 full clip of lmg and 2 clips from pistol will kill an onos WITHOUT UPGRADES

    I tried this ingame lol

Actually, I believe it is 33 lmg bullets for a non-carapace fade, and something like 70 lmg for an onos. Or 50 lmg and 10 pistol.
With carapace however, the numbers roughly double.

So 66 for carapaced fade then, eh?

Sounds fun, but what happens when they whip out the pistol?

It's far scarier for them if you do it properly. Run up to them, dodge past their LMG, and finish them anyway.

Taking a full LMG clip in the face for the fun of it? No thanks...

Well if you have healing nearby, it's not as bad

I don't mind losing fade in a game, I have just as much fun as skulks, too

heh.. when I was an Onos I found this marine running out from a base. So I followed, for some reason he didn't see me.. even though the walk sounds should make it obvious. Then he stopped for a bit, turned around and there was I right behind him He proceeded to unload his weapons into me so I just waited for him to finish then splattered him over the wall

One of my favorite "tricks" as a fade is to blink into marine spawn and start swiping.
I usally aim for the armory where you can usally find some marines loading up. My guess is that to suddenly find a fade in the middle of your base can freak people out.
I usally do it on Eclipse or Tanith since you can get resonably long blinks there.

Get level 3 cloaking and go into a corner where marines come from. When one comes bye start chuckling and carefully moving slowly around so you won't lose cloak and keep chuckling. Then kill him when you freaked him out enough.

In 1.03 cloak 3 and chuckle in his face made more or less any marines pants go brown
However with the new cloak rules in 1.04 this doesnt work nearly as well.

It still works pretty good.. have you seen the cloak? I had some marine following me.. i jumped down to this one place and stood still (he had MT so he could see where my circle was)

he fired a few shots once he jumped down
but stopped when i "wasn't there"

He walked RIGHT by me, and i was looking at him (turning) and he still didn't notice me.. the only time you know where someone is, is if they are MOVING(turning, whatever) or if they know where you are/hivesight.

i love the way cloak is, now. it's how it should be.

I suppose it's good to do that to beginners, but I am not freaked-out by the opposite team when I play. I'm not afraid to die in the game.

Not necessarily... Some aliens gain more % hitpoints from carapace than others. Skulk for instance... Takes 19 lmg shots, up from 9, more than double the hitpoints. Aliens like lerks get the maximum amount of help, unlike others, as they have more armor than hitpoints, and they will die before their armor gets depleted.
