can't find vehicle modification station after eye candy

I started a new save after eye candy and I've been playing for about 30 hours, and I can't find the vehicle modification station.
I've gotten all the radio stations up to and including the 40m countdown
I've explored all the following locations
mushroom forest, hollow island (including the wreck below), floating island, 2 different floating bulb zones, the koosh zone, degasi 250m, degasi 500m, deep river, Broken containment, Broken lab, part of the Dunes, and the aurora (including the hidden lab and captains quarters). I've found 2 (maybe 3) ghost leviathans, every material type except kyanite, every power reactor, and more rubies and ghost mushrooms than I could ever use. The only place I've found and haven't explored is Lava Zone because I need to be able to make a depth upgrade for my prawn, I assume that's where the kyanite is.
I've also explored to worlds edge in each of the four cardinal directions.
At this point I'm out of ideas.

NOTE: I had explored both of those wrecks twice already including using a scanner room.
It was hidden behind a box seemingly intended to make it not visible from the wrecks and the scanner room won't show data boxes as a scanning option when you place it at or near life pod 19, you have to run a camera over to those wrecks before it even shows up as an option to scan for. For such a critical component this data box might be too well hidden, if it was for an powerful OPTIONAL upgrade like prawn thermal generator that might be a great reward though, so maybe it should just get swapped with something with a more clear location?
I say critical because you HAVE to have it to make depth modules for the prawn to continue progressing in the story.
Also can't seem to find the aerogel jelly anymore.
Gel Sacks are no longer found in the shallow trench near the port side of the Aurora. Last game (experimental) I played about a month or more ago, I found some Gel Sacks on the deeper slopes of Volcano Isle (the northern one).
They're also all around the Grand Reef, and the Giant mushroom tree.
Yes, I found one out by the mushrooms then found tons at the grand reef.
