Hatches on the top of alien containment modules

So at the moment, we can only put hatches on the side of our alien containment modules (known to some as large aquariums),
it certainly would not break any kind of immersion, and I do not see how it would break code if we could add the hatches on the top (and perhaps/perhaps not the bottom) of these tanks, assuming there is another multipurpose room to open into.
While walking over my glass floor with fish underneath me is pretty, it's annoying (and kinda immersion breaking) to have to get a ladder down, and THEN pop the hatch to go eat some of those poor fishies.....
The cyclops and seamoth already have vertical hatches, so I don't understand why alien containment modules (and perhaps seabases generally) cannot
I get why perhaps hatches into the bottom of an alien containment module might be immersion-breaking for some...., but that's not the main issue I'm proposing.

If hatches, then please without some fixtures breaking the surface when unbuilt.
