How revolting people. What I mean't was is CS 1.6 is like its own game. CS 1.6 is Condition Zero you people are so not keeping up to date. But if CS:CZ is its own game then will NS still work on it? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
...I'm a bit confused how to actually GET CS 1.6. I guess it's in beta right now? So I have to download Steam if I want to get it now? When's the official version coming out?
*edit* Nvm, after carefully slogging through the CS forums I managed to get most stuff worked out. There sure are a lot of angry people there. And alot of locked topics.
It was supposed to come out, but it's not coming out today (like they said)
a lot of people got the LEAKED version of the game, and with everybody downloading the game content (WHICH IS HOW STEAM WORKS). the servers couldn't handle it.
500megabits of bandwith they say if it can't handle a leak, there's no way it can handle an OFFICIAL release.

You're thinking of 2 entirely different things. The confusion probably comes from the fact that 1.6 features some things FROM CZ, like the riot shield, but they are still very much 2 seperate products. CS 1.6 is just in semi-public beta testing on steam, and once its done it'll be released publically the same way all the other versions have. Same w/ the new TFC.
As for CZ, that's a completely seperate game that Ritual is making, that uses a (supposedly) improved upon engine (I guess to bring the engine up to year 2000 standards :P), and in all odds, won't be compatible w/ half-life mods.
