Not sure what the rest of the issue is, I'm assuming you died outside the seamoth and spawned back in base. You could build a second seamoth, travel back to the first, then alternate bringing both back up, moving them the max distance you feel safe swimming, then switchingto the other to move it that much closer. It would take awhile but you would get it back.
yeah that idea occurred to me then I left game not thinking I didn't save it for a while so, when I logged out and restarted it spawned me to a previous time lol.
