Suggestion: Weather

I believe weather would be a really cool implementation to the game.
Things such as story or rainy weather could cause waves that could stir up shallow grounds under the water, or even make the islands less safe with tides, heavy waves, or lightning.
Maybe even possible natural disasters like hurricanes and typhoons, causing more pieces of the ship to break off, replenishing resources like scrap metal and fragments throughout the world.
Maybe even have some elements of the bad weather making the player remain underwater or in a base/life-pod during rough weather. Maybe even have the life-pod thrash around a bit with bad weather.
Maybe even just little details like rain for atmosphere, or making plants grow slightly faster on the surface.

And yeah, having a weather system would change the atmosphere of the game, mainly on land.
Anyone knows if it is a planned feature ?
Underwater storms (like in Soma) would also be neat, and could result in some neat gameplay mechanics like currents tossing the subs/player around in some places during the storm. The currents could be mitigated by using the Prawn suit to walk through them, and the subs could maybe have some sort of anchor to tether them during these events. Maybe even have a dive tether for the player as well. Like in Soma, these underwater storms could be limited to the deeper areas like the dunes, mountains, and sea treader's path so the player is likely to have the appropriate equipment to deal with them by the time they encounter the underwater storms.
