i7-2600 3.4GHz 16GB RAM GTX950 2GB 1.5T HDD

Graphics at max across the board.

Picked up HiCapO2 pattern/blueprint from Lifepod 3. Blueprint shows as available in Inventory, but not available for creation even if all supplies are on-hand at Lifepod 5 creation station.

This is not a bug. Items like the High Cap O2 tank can only be made at the Modification Station.

Well, that's never made clear in the game ... :/ Thanks for the heads-up.

I think they're making tabs for the blueprint section of the PDA. Items you can make would be sorted by the station you can make them on.

For now, the subnautica wikia is pretty well maintained if you run into more issues like this. Aside from fragment locations, that's the best place to double-check why something isn't working.

The data bank entry for the Modification Station makes it fairly clear: "Where the standard fabricator atomically rearranges raw materials to form complex devices, the mod station is able to combine complex devices to enhance their function.

Most industrial vessels are fitted with a complement of equipment modification stations, which enable engineers to adapt their tools for emergent situations on the fly.

To conserve hard drive space the modification station is excluded by default from most personal emergency blueprint libraries; however extreme environments such as ocean and desert class planets may necessitate the adaptation of basic survival tools (such as the knife and oxygen tanks) for unanticipated applications. For this reason access to a mod station is always recommended."

However, that description is moot if you have yet to actually build the thing. I propose that once you find your fist modification blueprint, your PDA informs you that some upgrades require more sophisticated equipment that your lifepod does not have. Maybe even mentioning that the Aurora was transporting such devices.

PDA, "Alert: new modification blueprint detected. Warning: fabricators are not equipped to handle advanced tool construction. Cargo manifest show that the Aurora was transporting several Modification Stations that could achieve this task. Recommend: locate or fabricate personal Modification Station to utilize new blueprint."

I like this idea here. They're moving over to those gigantic SD cards for modification blueprints, so it'd be easy to hook up to the first interaction the player has with any one of those.
