Stats For The Comm

Hey

I've noticed on all servers that us poor **** comms get no stats? Is this something that may change ?? Not that I'm a stat freak but there seems to be stats for everything else.

How about things like this:

Accumulated Time in chair
Win/Lose
Time of win/lose

I think it would be only fair to throw a few stats in the direction of the guy who has to manage a whole board for an Hour or so.

What does anyone think?

    I think your reasoning is flawed...

    because you also have to include total marine deaths, resources, buildings built, orders completed, rscs spent, buildings lost, all that stuff.

    And coooool, I looked at a topic the same time as Flayra...I feel so stupid for writing this little blurb

    i dont like the idea of commander stats, way too complicated for not that much info.

    yea u wouldnt be ale to get a accurate enough evaluation of the Commander .

    Already mentioned that in the 'who is the best player' thread.

    Thing is you'd then get starcraft esque problems, where no one will take over com because it'll ruin there 'stats' or people will quit the com chair so it doesn't 'ruin there stats' when the game looks pear shaped..

    but then you'd need the marines to have kills aswell oooh acctually would be good for ONLY the com kills to count.. then everyone would be like 'i wana be teh com so i getz teh l33t killz, quick bildz teh tureetz n00bz'

    It's not as simple as win/loss. Commanders can change mid-match. What happens if you play to the middle of a game, your comp crashes, and someone else picks up where you left off? Or when you work hard all game, you have to go, and some schmoe finishes the last 5 minutes?

    bad idea, this game is definitely a team-based mod and even then the game doesnt give stats to marines with kills/deaths...why? because then no one in the marines would play as a team, they'd be too worried about there score. Same thing when given stats to comm. No team play, without stats no one has to worry about there freakin individual score.

    Greetings,

    My First post on the board, look foward to playing with you all. I only have one thing to say about player stats. I believe them to be the single most destructive influence on teamplay over the entire range of halflife mods. I believe they also contribute to the cheating problems experienced by half-life mods and other FPS games. I sincerely wish valve would cut the funtionality in the next patch.

    Just to head off any criticism/flames of my opinion (of which everyone is entitled) my kill/death ratios are on average well in the positives across mods.

    Just My 2¢.
