Alrite peeps, so here is my suggestion. We can collect posters/plants. That we can use to decorate our bases with, so what if they included a small quest/gathering chain that could lead to unlocking this option. To make small creature collectibles that can be place anywhere in your base (e.g. Airsacs,Sand sharks), that could be placed on desks and that. Here is how I think it would work:
1: Unlock Scanner tool.
2: Locate fragment/s that need to be scanned in order to unlock the build option in the fabricator. (Location varies)
3: 100% Completed scan of the creature you wish to make a figurine of. (e.g. Airsac/Reaper).
4: Piece of titanium + item (e.g. creepvine) to manufacture the figurine using the fabricator.
5: And now the most difficult step trying to find a cool spot where to put it.

I was impressed when, after 30 hours of game, i continue to search Bags or coffee machines arounds wrecks.
That could give a good motivation for continue to explore wrecks even if you have all the blueprints.
(So many players complain about the uselessness of exploring new wrecks )
