A tiny bit of feedback

(Not sure if this is right place, please move the topic if it violates any rules)

Every once in a while I return to check what's new in the world of Subnautica and every time I'm reminded why I stopped playing in the first place - there is simply not enough things to do.

I really wish next few updates would be fully focused on enhancing existing resource and crafting system, making it more way complex than what we have now.
I of course don't know what kind of end goals for this game the developers have, but as long as there is limited/fixed map, longevity/complexity should come from some other places since you can't just keep exploring forever.
And crafting is in my opinion the ideal way to keep players occupied for a pretty much indefinite period IF the system would be complex enough (I'm talking about Factorio level of complexity at least :).

I think we should consider different player expectations here. Personally, I wouldn't touch Subnautica with a ten foot pole if it had crafting akin to Factorio's. I'm not saying the current system is ideal, it could use some additional spicing up, but Factorio-style would feel like a boring, neverending chore for a player like myself.

Factorio was just an example of interconnected system of resources and production. Right now, whole crafting / base building system in Subnautica is just too primitive. It would be nice to have some information from developers about long term vision in this area.

I really agree with this sentiment.
-The game is just too easy to fly through the content. Content for me is crafting and discovery.

I would like to see crafting expanded like this:
    1. Personal/handheld items remain exactly as they are currently.

    2. Large items: Seamoth, Cyclops and Habitats require much much more resources, see 'Mining' below.

    3. Introduce 'Mining'. Mining is done by placing machinery at locations in the world. The correct location is found through use of a scanner that indicates the level and type of resource. Visually imagine like the seamoth 'sonar'. The machine will mine over a period of time and the resources collected periodically.

This for me would introduce a whole new activity of surveying for the required resources, placing the mining machines and maintaining them, gathering the resource periodicaly.

I really think there could be a much better economy of activity and resources in the game, that would give more reasons to revisit previously discovered locations.

How about a Creature Creator to add unlimited content?
On a side note, to give the game ultimate god-like longevity, without need for constant developer work -a 'creature creator'(like the Spore game) could be developed that allows players to collect genetic data, then breed new life-forms, that can be shared and downloaded into each others game.
    -That would be my dream!

Peeps keep talking about how Subnautica should become infinite when A.) the game is not designed for that and would probably require more work to be changed than a brand new game to be created, and B.) platforms are already struggling to run the game, hence (among gameplay reasons) the removal of terraforming.

I've already given my opinion that merely increasing the numbers of each material needed is a poor excuse for making the game more of a challenge here.

I don't like posts like this for one Very Large Reason.

This game, is in early access. ITS FAR FROM FINISHED! So stop buggering and squeezing the content out of these guys! they're a small team that have to keep 2 different games up to date and running. Let them do what they're doing and leave them alone. They're only trying to keep everyone happy.

It's Their game, it's their choice. they deserve a break.
