Crash Powder and crash Pods?

I just got the game the day of the release and my world is the same world as I had in the demo. I do not know if I need to restart and look again but I have found zero crash powder in caves and I found zero crash pods. As of this moment I cannot get to the aurora and fix it as I cannot get the welder or fix my pod. Does anyone else have this issue?
