The developers have stated that they're doing away with lethal weaponry, as they don't want Subnautica to be "just another shooter". Besides, creature respawning renders this feature pointless.
True true... but think about the other ways it could help, they could be used to also get to different areas in the land.
I didn't even think of that! screw my idea, just add vortex cyclops torpedos!
Now, surveying/demolition torpedoes are another matter, but remembering that we currently have no angular attitude control of the Cyclops, the torpedoes would again have to be targeted or remotely guided. [Using mining/terraforming tools in a potentially lethal manner is very Dead Space]
And I'm still a little confused about the vortex torpedoes. Do y'all just use them for holding a threatening fauna in place for you to escape? I just keep the perimeter defense system on hand and zap all the bone sharks or stalkers before I need to get out. It's rechargeable and I don't have to carry space-consuming torpedoes.
Instead you end up stuck at the bottom of the ocean after shocking something on 10% charge.
