Oh, my god this looks so cool. Do we get to scan this stuff and turn it into Blueprints? Damn, this looks awesome.

... actually, some of it is implemented, like the damaged lightstick, but still... wow!

Makes a lot more sense than scanning boxes. Personally, I am surprised that we can't scan the broken Water Filtration Machines that are currently available in some wrecks.

Exactly! It makes way more sense to find tech in old bases or wrecks than in the form of boxes lying on the seafloor. I really hope they intend on making new techs available that way, it would be much cooler. The damage models really look cool btw.

You start out in your Lifepod, manage to repair your Comm Relay than get a message that leads you to the Island; then from there you find a PDA that leads you to the Jelly Shroom Base; then from there you find another Data Fragment that takes you somewhere else; and so on... THE HYPE for this!

Story for this game is being written by Tom Jubert, who has some serious chops; he wrote for the Talos Project, and Penumbra: Overture, as well as others... there's a Reddit AMA with Subnautica teases somewhere... ah, here:
