NS screenies are like an addiction. The more you see, the more you want. The less you see, the more you want. It's very difficult waiting for NS to get out, I'll tell you that. I wanna shoot up some bugs... Then get eaten alive of course.

NS does seem to be more complicated but just as easy to learn. Not only does this game appeal to those with fast fingers, but those with quick minds too. The commander aspect of the game is absolutely wonderful. The quickness of fingers and eyes suddenly means nothing without a the mind of a good commander. I'm surprised no one attempted to fuse FPS's with RTS's before.
As for screenies... At least we know the date crawls ever so slowly closer. Games is progressing... though we think at a fraction of a snail's pace... Oh well. I wait... not for long though... <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> may have to grow claws and extra teeth and claw something...
Trust me, there's nothing in NS that's so complicated that you can't learn it yourself. There are pop-ups that tell you how to do certain abilities throughout the game, and everything makes sense. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

You get all sorts of 'shazbot' for issuing orders to other players however. The commander in tribes had no other real effect on the gameplay. The only reason I ever used it was to set waypoints for myself so I didn't get lost.
also there is C&C renegade which in my opinion sucks, and there is the serious sam Starcraft mod wich was origionally planned for HL wich hopes to implement top down commanding into later builds with starcraft scale deployment of player interactive buildings and of AI controlled units (the current private alpha is FPS DM but soon to be improved)
