Warper implementation

So I want to start by saying that I love and respect everything Unknown Worlds has done with Subnautica, but I can't say that I'm excited for the implementation of the warper. The way I see it (and this is completely subjective), is that Subnautica is a game about nature and the ocean and I think that it will take away from the natural beauty of the game to implement a creature that has an evolved ability equivalent to an Aperture Science portal gun. I don't think any of the Subnautica biomes or threats in the game would warrant such an extreme feat of evolution in the warper.

However, this is only my opinion and I have seen Unknown Worlds developers do no wrong to Subnautica so whether or not the warper is implemented I am positive the game will be equally as enticing.

Anyone else have thoughts on the warper? Leave comments below, love to talk about it!

In all seriousness, I believe the Warper will have some reason for its ability not now, but in the future. After all, it doesn't spawn yet.

while i respect your opinion i have to dissagree with it. Im very thrilled about the warper and im sure they'll polish it a bit before it is completely done. I agree that the warper is unlike any lifeform we are used to so far in the game but i dont think its as badly ''out of place'' as you judge it to be.

the Warper clearly is of the dominant species of this world and its been visibly given ''psionic'' abilities as a way to defend itself // attack its preys. Personally i find this pretty cool and fun and was really hoping it wouldnt be cut from the game like the rock puncher seemingly will be. Also, as @DombiePigRider stated this creature might be involved in the plot of the game. After all we know very little of it thus far.

I find I agree with <span style="color:#00FF00;">@Graydoyle05</span> in all respects. I'd like to see defensive systems that work effectively. Perhaps other players have different results, but I find the Seamoth torpedoes and electric defense systems useless. The stasis rifle and propulsion cannon are a little better against small predators, but useless against the serious kill-me-with-one-bite predators. And we seem to be slated for more and more of the latter type of predators. IMO, this detracts from game play outside of the "safe" shallows.

Your opinion is your opinion but when I'm chased by the reaper the next time I would really like to have a portal gun but that's only my opinion
