Greetings developers and fellow community members and Subnautica fans,
I have been playing with this early access game, off-and-on again, for quite some time now. I have about 100 hours logged, so I figured it was time post here in the forums, proclaim my delight and enjoyment, and make a few suggestions.
First of all, I love the game. I realize it is early so I have not been overly concerned with story and the overall-ultimate direction of the game, I'm confident that will develop and flesh out in time. I have been more occupied with the enjoyment of the gameplay, the visuals and the undersea themed construction and exploration. The feel of this game is very immersive and it is easy to get drawn into the depth as one explores the vast reaches of this alien ocean. I originally played in Survival and Freedom modes, and then like many I switch to the Creative mode to fully explore base creation options, and to more freely restart my progress with all available content after new updates launched.
On overall scope of the game, I agree with the many that a multiplayer would be fantastic. I would actually go a step further and say that an almost MMORPG modeled on this early access would be amazing. I can see an Ocean planet with scattered shallows where the "many ships" of the fleet sent to colonize a nearby solar system crash; many more biome types, deep depths into the deepest miles rather than only 100's of meters, cooperative and competitive endeavors, deep-sea mining, farming, exploration, alien-zoology, unknown aliens in the deep dark, countless flora and fauna to exploit, eco-manage, cultivate... the possibilities are really endless.
Back to the current reality of the game a little bit now. My only real issue/concern right now is with the collision and clipping issues with the undersea flora and the various habitat modules. I personal love the flora being a integrative part of my under sea construction projects. Like many of my fellow Subnautica peers, I choose a particular construction site largely due the surrounding beauty of the oceans you have created. When I plop down my module, I would love the nearby kelp to wrap, or simply push around my building rather than going through or simply deleting it. This is especially true of corridors but also of rooms etc.
A couple suggestions I have for habitat modules: I would love to see a very large Multipurpose Room (I call it an XXL Multipurpose Room below), along with a Huge Aquarium. These would be stackable just like the existing Multipurpose Room. The idea is pretty self explanatory and is pictured below:
I would also love to see the ability to build at 45° angles off the multipurpose rooms (not just the current 90°) along with an added 45° corridor. The ability to build at a 45° or diagonal would vastly increase the variety of building options, design elements and esthetics of ones undersea base. Angle construction would allow for a huge variety in large and small sea-base designs. Additionally, this diagonal construction would allow for one to build around and preserve Iconic and beautiful natural undersea fauna and terrain, and would be very alien-eco-friendly. See examples below:
Thank you all for your time and the opportunity to post my thoughts and suggestions. I would love to hear responses from the Development Team, as well as any thoughts from my fellow fans of Subnautica. Thank you again for a great early development experience.

I suggested the 45 degree ones a while back. Glad you are suggesting that one.
The more posts about it, the more chances it could happen.
It would add so much more to making cool habitats.
You drew up the concept nicely with your pics. Kudo's
I really hope the devs consider these ideas...
Would be nice to have a glass version of the "T" and "X" section also. like the glass version for the elbow/90 degree section.
Let me give some additionals suggestions:
Tune up your XXL room with a glass roof or dome (here from the concept art page)
<img width="200" height="180" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5019629/uploads/editor/hl/bryqfzmraxon.png"></img>
A geodesic aquadome (probably with glass structure)

Love the idea. I'd play a Subnautica MMO to death. But at this stage they're not even committing to multi-player. Plus the MMO gold rush seems to have ground to a halt. So I don't think it's likely Though No Man's Sky might change things. Once the rest of the industry figures out how its procedural generation works.
You can't attach corridor sections TO corridors (making a T corridor by attaching one to where a window might go)
You cannot build Bulkheads at the join of two rooms or modules; they can only be built in corridor segments. Kind of sucks, really.
Rooms seem weird without actual doors; there should be actual doors besides the big Bulkheads.
Lots of people would love a kind of "No Man's Depth". With endless depths, co-players, constructs and randomizations. But UWE has limits. There were lots of plans
<img width="600" height="400" src="https://trello-attachments.s3.amazonaws.com/54d16a9432d57b0c8a52c424/1224x1632/51b85768adfa2fec15cecd7a60049a57/progression.jpg"></img>
And now the roadmap with a release date at August led to many cuts and a final depth of probably 1500m. The devs simply can't do more.
Realistically only the 45° tubes and maybe a small glass MP roof has a chance for the time until release. I won't ever get my super glass dome and am just dreaming.
