Should the game have a build able room to serve as a Underwater Turbine Power Station for players who want more power in there base, This room would serve as a great purpose in the Oxygen update as planned, also people who don't won't fish to get killed you can always put a vent on the intake as a upgrade, Making the fish safe, You can also build inside the station, converter and transformer, and a little addition to this turbine there are upgrades for it including, Turbine Vent, Converter MK-1, Converter MK-2, Transformer MK-1, Transformer MK-2, Turbine Blades MK-1 and Turbine Blades MK-2.

In addition to this more ideas came, And added item damage to this Turbine Station, Leaks, Damaged Turbine blades, Overload.
Leaks : The idea of leaks is to make the room leak of cause but also the turbine. ( seals getting damaged some how. )
Damaged Turbine blades : This is caused from the fish, by having no vents on the Turbine. ( also you can turn off / on the turbine so you can build the Vent without hurting any fish. )
Overload : Its really simple, All Big waves coming in the intake or Power overload, This addition the can happen randomly. ( you can choose depending on how much power you want )

The idea came from the Moon-pool, The upgrades can be sorted like the Moon-Pool, The station is like the Moon-Pool but bigger and a turbine slapped in the middle of it. ( To save modeling time. )

seems interesting but where would you put it since you need enough "wave strength"(don't know the scientific name for this in English) to power it and there currently aren't any known areas with such a "wave strength"

Have you seen the Gravity Generator, it pulls right? You can have that to pull in the water, like around the rim of the Intake

"Current" is the correct scientific term.

If currents actually get implemented then sure, otherwise im not to keen on having it.

The reason beeing that at present you have 2 power generators providing "free" power. Solar panels and the Thermal plant and those have some requirements and downsides. First the solar panels gets a reduced effectiveness the deeper you are, and only work during daytime, and the thermal plant requires ambient ocean temperatures above 15 degrees if i understood the tooltip correctly.

So, in return for that "free" power, it requires you to think about where to place a base, relatively close to the surface, or near a thermal vent. (Unless you're willing to spend a fortune in gold routing power over a distance, which is a fair tradeoff)

Now if you were to add in a turbine generator it would either have to work everywhere, or near currents if they are implemented.

And everywhere is just too OP for "free" power.

If you think about it, there is going to be a lot more systems needing power, and the Turbine System is what players, might need to power all the new tech in their base

All the people saying no, just stating this Generator is like a End Game building for Deeper buildings with more tech needed.

They can add underwater tunnels with strong current much like there are in the real world. That would be a good place to put them, in addition the player himself should be pushed around slowly through the tunnel until they come out through the exit. This could make it cool because if they got too close then they would be softly pulled in. Maybe in in seamoth or if you have a sea glide you could fight these currents. Just an idea.

Thats a really great idea mate, really great for a turbine

As an end-game power source, this could work. Current generators would have to be used in the design, since the natural water currents won't be strong enough to power a generator. It would have to be expensive and big, though. And someone will have to come up with some lore for it, since a colonization spaceship won't have any water turbines on it, so there won't be any fragments lying around on the sea-bed.
