Cyber Pistol

Hey guys i hope you like my idea 
In subnautica you can build 3 different kinds of knifes. 1st one: Normal Knife. 2nd one: Hardened Blade/Diamond Blade. 3rd one: Thermo Blade.
These knifes can be used to attack and get materials with. Let's say i attack i Reaper Leviathan with my Hardened Blade: I am trying to kill it but it is too fast and it hits with it's bite. How much do a reaper do in damage: REALLY MUCH. I think it's only possible to kill it in Creative, but it takes a long time, even if you had a Stasis Rifle. So why not make a weapon who can shoot. As in the title it would be called a Cyber Pistol.
The Cyber Pistol can shoot lightning.
Why it should shoot lightning: Because it's a natural thing plus the ocean gives power. You know what i mean. Maybe there should be a battery requirement, i don't really know. In my opinion it shouldn't.
Okay so i know that if they made the Cyber Pistol, it would kill some of the reasons to make the blades. If they added the Cyber Pistol, the normal knife could be used to materials and NOT attacking. The blades can still be used, here comes the reason. The Cyber pistol should NOT do more damage than the knife. The Cyber Pistol would damage okay much, but not more than the blade. Right now it is REALLY hard to catch a reaper with the blade. The Cyber pistol Should help with not trying to catch the reaper over and over again. So let's say that i have a blade and the Cyber Pistol. I use the Cyber Pistol from a little distance, and use the blade when it is closely. So now there is the Stasis Rifle. If you are the kind of guy there want to use the blade more, you can use the Stasis rifle. We are all different people with different attack strategy. So as you can see there is a little bit of a choices here, and that is a good thing. If you are the boy/girl who wants to kill the reaper from distance you have the Cyber Pistol. If you are the kind of guy/girl who wants closely and more damagely strategy, then you have the blades and the Stasis rifle. Think about it.
Okay i don't think that i have much more to say so, as i said it's up to you guys if it should have a battery requirement.

no you're right you'd end up frying yourself and everything around you. Water and Electricity don't mix well... Now as for other lifeforms that can produce electrical charges... yeah those things have a biological mechanic that protects them from their own deadly electrical defense/offensive ability.
