I researched Autoclaves and I think that an Autoclave would be a good addition to the game. Autoclaves are used to grow quartz, vulcanize rubber and sterilize medical equipment. Because of these uses I think an Autoclave-like device could have a real place in this game.
As for how, Sea Water contains Silicic Acid, which can be made into quartz through a hydrothermal process so my idea goes like this, the "Autoclave" that you build takes in water from the ocean and converts the Silicic Acid into Quartz, but doing this consumes a steady stream of power and produces a relatively small amount of quartz per day (I was thinking about 5 but balancing is best left to developers), the power consumption and slow rate are meant to make it so that this isn't a cheat device.
If anyone has any other use ideas for an Autoclave I'd love the suggestions. Autoclaves are used in a lot of fields including microbiology, medicine, mycology and industrial production.
