  i'm intrigued by the idea that the game is pulling you into the deep dark.
  the concept that the ocean *wants* you to find, at its bottom, the big, scarry (???) that is waiting to be discovered.
  the thing that shot the mysterious lazer crashing the ship.
  and the kicker when you find it: it wants your life too.
  
  i think that can be accomplished with the beakon signals found lying around, but if i saw a whirlpool that formed directly over the lost river, with a straight-down current to the pool... i'd dig it
