I don't know if this is known about already, but I haven't been able to find out anything about this.
As I was playing, I realized that I didn't have the scanner, and I had the fragment analyzer. If I recall, the analyzer is from an old update. I'm rather hesitant to keep playing since I don't know what else has stuck around from an old update.
